An intergalactic princess’ best friend! Carrie Fisher took her beloved dog, Gary, as her date to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner 2016 on Saturday, April 30, in Washington, D.C.
The Stars Wars veteran, 59, walked her adorable French bulldog and service pup down the red carpet on a striped leash. While Fisher, who publicly announced in 2000 that she is bipolar, wore an all-black ensemble with a pop of bubblegum at the collar, Gary modeled a black collar with green rhinestones.

And they weren’t alone! The pair were joined by Tom Hiddleston on the carpet, who looked especially dapper in a midnight tuxedo. Carrie shared a snap of the trio via Instagram and captioned, “On the red carpet at the WHC Dinner. #frenchiesontheredcarpet #garyfisher #whitehousecorrespondentdinner #garyfisheratthewhitehousecorrespondentdinner 🐶 #WHCD”
Since the dinner, Fisher and her pup have been making the most of their trip to the capital. Visits to the White House, Supreme Court and Lincoln Memorial have all been documented on Gary’s personal Instagram account (@garyfisher), with pictures of the pup gamely posing in front of all the famous locales.
