Even without Rihanna‘s risky sheer Adam Selman dress, the CFDA Awards, given out on June 2 in New York City, were full of eye-catching style, sweet speeches, and, of course, celebs dressed to the nines.
“Tonight is the night where designers celebrate designers and we honor each other,” CFDA president Diane von Furstenberg told the the crowd in her speech.
While the evening was focused on the style geniuses like Dior’s Raf Simons and The Row’s Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Hollywood’s finest, including James Marsden, Lupita Nyong’o and Keri Russell were on hand to present the coveted awards.
To honor Rihanna with the Fashion Icon Award, Vogue editor Anna Wintour said, “She proves that incredible style can help take a talented young woman from a small island to the world stage and along the way spark a lot of conversation about elegance and empowerment.”
