What a gem!
Some red carpet trends require a bit of work, (see: abs of steel for crop tops, or supermodel height for wide leg trousers), but luckily, dressing in jewel tones is an effortless practice that always looks good. Still, undoubtedly, Christina Hendricks sits on the throne of jewel-toned dressing, conquering bright shades one red carpet at a time.
Slaying in Sapphire
For the 2014 International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Awards on Monday, Nov. 24, in New York City, the Mad Men actress, 39, struck gold in a deep navy gown by Paule Ka, featuring a huge bow detail on the bustline. She paired the look with Bionda Castana ivory striped heels and jewelry by Kwiat.
She paired the look with bright red lipstick, and of course, her signature fiery mane. Hendricks’ rich ivory skin with pink undertones plays well with deep blue shades, as they tend to warm up her skin.
Elegant in Emerald
The knockout conquered jewel tones at the 2014 CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute on Nov. 18, in New York City. This time Hendricks opted for a dark green dress by Zac Posen with an off-the-shoulder design. She carried a Jimmy Choo snakeskin clutch and wore Bionda Castana pumps.
Ruling in Ruby
Hot! Hendricks brought wow factor to the red carpet at the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards on Aug. 25, in Los Angeles. The actress pulled out all the stops in a bright red Marchesa gown, cinched at the waist with gold detailing, while busting the myth that redheads don’t look good in red.
