Dance shoes are so in demand right now! I love the way they look, and they go with just about everything. I especially love these Ghillie styled, lace-up shoes created by Isabel Toledo, a fave designer of Michelle Obama. Toledo has designed an extensive line of shoes and handbags for Payless which are high on style yet light on the wallet. Boots, booties, and ballerinas, in leather and faux fur. Some are flat, some have a nice heel. The lacing is so chic and this is so different from a standard “dance style” shoe. If you’ve had your fill of 80’s jazz oxfords that may be too manly and want to be a bit more femme, this is your shoe. Available in silver and black. Super cheap ($34.99!) and really cheerful!
The basic design of the Ghillie shoe has a soft sole with sides that go partway up the foot, joined with sturdy laces which may wrap around the ankle and up the leg so the shoe is secure. Great with short skirts, jumpers or khakis.
