Michelle Williams is like a breath of fresh air in Hollywood when it comes to makeup. She's always expressed her own personal style, from being an early adopter of the short pixie cut to bucking trends like the super smokey eye. Last night's premiere of her new film Blue Valentine (costarring the delicious Ryan Gosling) was no exception.
Williams looked absolutely luminous with minimal makeup highlighted by a wash of pearl on eyes and sheer rose lips. Her makeup artist, Jeanine Lobell, tells UsMagazine.com how she created the look.
Lobell started by enhancing the actress' skin with a primer, rather than using a foundation with heavier coverage. Then she layered pearlized ivory, pink and grey eyeshadows on lids.
"I applied the pale ivory shade loosely all over the eye from the lash lines to brows then the pink one lightly over the creases, then smudged the grey into the top lash lines and along the lower lashes" Lobell tells Us.
To complete the eyes, she penciled brows, curled lashes and applied three coats of black mascara. The ethereal eye was paired with lips and cheeks in sheer rose.
