Fall style or summer style? It’s all the same to Gigi Hadid, who proved that velvet booties and denim-on-denim — cold weather staples — can be worn in the heat too!
Hadid, 21, rocked a jean jacket and skinnies outfit with a Junk Food Pink Floyd Crop Top ($20, junkfoodclothing.com) that she paired with Komono Stella sunglasses ($69, shop-usd.komono.com) and ultraplush velvet ankle boots on Thursday, June 16, in NYC. Her eye-catching burgundy Stuart Weitzman Clinger booties provided a vibrant edge to the otherwise casual getup.
The model is the star of the fall ad campaign for Stuart Weitzman and kick-boxed her entire way through the tough-as-nails photos, which feature her long legs in the brand’s over-the-knee boots and sky-high heels.
Hadid is a self-professed fangirl of Stuart Weitzman, and admits to wearing them on a near-daily basis. “On the red carpet is where I take more fashion risks, and then street style is my real life,” Hadid said in a behind-the-scenes video for the campaign. “That’s why you see me in Stuart Weitzman so much, because it’s always comfortable.”
The red velvet boots are a new fixture for the brand’s upcoming fall collection, and Hadid is already all about the texture, especially for her go-to monochrome style. “When you’re doing monochromatic outfits, which I usually do, something like colored velvet adds another texture,” she explained.
