A week after UsMagazine.com broke the news that Nick Lachey popped the question to Vanessa Minnillo, Us first reported that Lachey's ex, Jessica Simpson, got engaged to Eric Johnson.

I'm sorry I like Jessica but it all seems like some sort of ploy. Why all of a sudden right after Nick proposes is Jessica also engaged. I smell a fish called Joe.
This is a pathetic poll, who cares what ring is "hotter", its the thought behind the ring, not the price or cut. Its great that both Vanessa and Jessica found someone to spend their lives with. Everyone needs to stop with the Jessica and Nick rivalry, there isn't one! They have both moved on in life, both have their own successes and both found someone who make them truly happy. Jessica deserves it, she has been unhappy for too long and she finally found someone who accepts her for who she is, thats what real love truly means.
Some of you people are absolutely down right RUDE!!What does it matter how Jessica got her start and made all her money,with or without Nick shes got it now and you should just stop hating on her. Shes a successful business woman. Why do people keep saying Jessica paid for Vanessa's ring?! I'm sorry but did you see the divorce settlement? Did you forget that Nick was very successful in the late 90's through 2005? He does have his own money people. And if he did get anything, I'm sure in 5 years it's gone by now! Get over it!!! Time to move on!

seriously lol now we compare rings. One is Vintage & one is traditional. Both are very different women for very different tastes. Jessica's is unique & maybe read up on what rubies mean in engagmenmt ring. They actually have a meaning. IT's well thought out. & for teh person saying ERIC has no money & none from football your absolutley wrong. he aslo has investments. he is not at Jessica's level of wealth but he is a millionaire in his own right. get a grip people. Stop the hate & wish all 4 people happiness. Nick is no saint & he & Vanessa have had a pretty rocky road & well documented. If they worked it out awesome if not expect to hear more of the same in the future also.
Vanessa and Nick have proven to handle themselves in a much classier way than Jessica ever has. I worry for Jessica. That new guy seems to be after something more than her heart - her bank account. I think she may be making another bad decision.
