We see what you did there, Kimmy.
Kim Kardashian was on hand to present veteran photographer Bruce Webber an award at the 19th Annual ACRIA Holiday Dinner on Wednesday, Dec. 10, in New York City.
For the event, benefiting the fight against AIDS, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 34, hit the red carpet in a teal blue hand-quilted satin bustier and a dusty pink satin draped skirt by Ulyana Sergeenko, teamed with her favorite gold T-strap sandals by Tom Ford. Mrs. Kanye West finished her look with a sultry smoky eye, voluminous lashes, and a glossy nude lip.
"When you kind of fall in love with someone’s creativity, sometimes it’s really fun to try and find new designers," Kardashian told Us Weekly about her outfit choice. "It just clicked and she makes me these amazing things that are so different."
While we applaud the fashion devotee for wearing something other than a leather skirt and skintight bodysuit, we have to acknowledge her clear source of inspiration.
The year was 1990, and Madonna wore a braided ponytail, edgy makeup, and a satin cone bra top by Jean Paul Gaultier for her Blond Ambition World Tour. With one envelop-pushing costume, undergarments suddenly became suited for outerwear.
