Lea Michele's Black Dress: Better on the Runway or Red Carpet?

Despite admitting in a recent interview that her five-foot-three stature makes her look like she's 12-years-old, Lea Michele has been donning some seriously sophisticated numbers on the red carpet lately.

Exhibit A: The Glee starlet stepped out in a chic, backless Alberta Ferretti gown at the 10th Annual InStyle Summer Soiree in West Hollywood Wednesday. The halter-top dress featured velvet flowers embroidered on the skirt and a fluttering organza scarf in the back.

As if she was trying to add a few more inches to her height, Michele, 25, twisted her shiny brunette strands into a gravity-defying top knot, which she accessorized with a slim, braided headband.

The gown made its debut on the Alberta Ferretti Fall 2011 runway, but was modeled as unlined, sheer, and completely see-through.
