Newlyweds Chely Wright, Lauren Blitzer Both Wear White Wedding Dresses

Two beautiful brides!

When country singer Chely Wright said "I do" to Lauren Blitzer on Saturday, both ladies wore white wedding dresses. Blitzer, a 30-year-old LGBT Civil Rights activist, tweeted a picture of "the Blitzer-Wrights" on their wedding day.

"We had a great time," Wright, 40, tweeted Sunday. The "Shut Up and Drive" singer met Blitzer last year, just two weeks after coming out.

Before coming out in 2010, Wright told NBC's Today Show that she "was hiding. I was gay, and I didn't want anyone to know that I was."

"Country music has been described as being about God and family and country," she said. "And for some reason people think that you can't be gay and have those beliefs. That's why I have to do this. I have to be one to step forward.

i agree....i think anyone should be allowed to get married regardless of whether they are gay or straight. everyone in this country says that we should all be treated equally but when it comes to marriage and people who are gay....everyone seems to change their minds about equality. how is that fair or right at all?
