They’re just like us!
During a West Hollywood press conference for The Huntsman: Winter’s War on April 12, Charlize Theron and Emily Blunt dished about their characters with supernatural powers — but revealed that they succumbed to mortal people’s problems.
When asked about showing off her fighting skills, Blunt, 33, told a group of reporters — including Us Weekly — that her mobility was limited.
“I have to leave that to Jessica [Chastain, who plays Sara, the Warrior], because Charlize and I spent our time hobbling around in high heels going, ‘my feet hurt,’” she said. ”That was like the extent of our actions.”
Theron, 40, chimed in about their wardrobe as well. “[And] ‘this dress is heavy,’” she admitted.
“So heavy,” Blunt — who plays Freya, the Ice Queen — added. “And like, Jessica would like come into the makeup bus just pouring with sweat from some awful stunt coordinating.”
Theron, who reprises her role of Ravenna, the Evil Queen, recalled a stand-off with the film’s director, Cedric Nicolas-Troyan. While filming a fight sequence, Nicolas-Troyan asked Theron to complete a fast turn.
“And I was like, ‘Do you know what I’m wearing?’” Theron said. “And he’s like, ‘You turn into ravens and it’s really fast.’ And I was like, ‘You lost me at fast. Nothing’s going to be fast about this!’”
Theron also praised Chastain, who did most of her stunts in that same sequence, saying that “the amount of shots … that are performed by the stunt double are minimal. Every time you see all those, she does it in that dress.”
