New material! Pia Mia was announced as the new face and first-ever fashion director of Material Girl, Madonna’s fashion line for juniors at Macy’s, on April 26. The “Do It Again” singer, social media queen (she has 4 million Instagram followers!) and close friend of Kylie Jenner was personally praised by her Madg-esty in a statement.
“Her creativity, confidence and unique sense of style make her a perfect addition to the brand,” Madonna told WWD.
Pia Mia is equally thrilled. “The fact that Madonna chose me to do this literally makes me die,” she gushed to WWD. “Growing up in Guam, there weren’t too many places to shop, so I had to be really creative. I’d just go in my parents’ and sisters’ closets and cut things up and put them back together.”
Pia, who joins past celeb ambassadors like Zendaya and Rita Ora, will tap into her inner designer once again while working with Material Girl. Aside from starring in a docu-series about her work with the brand and attending meetings, she will also weigh in on the direction of the spring 2017 collections.
