Hayden Panettiere debuted a brand new, super short hair at the Global Home Tree Earth day event in L.A. Thursday. The Heroes star, 20, hit the red carpet wearing a skintight black dress with a sheer top while cuddling with her boyfriend, boxer Vladimir Klitschko.

"Women say short hair isn't sexy, but it is," star stylist Ted Gibson, who has worked with Angelina Jolie and Kate Gosselin, tells UsMagazine.com. "Most women can wear this look."

It's not Panettiere’s first hair switchup this year.
In January, she ditched her blonde locks for a deep red 'do.

"I was tired of being a blonde," she told Us then. "You get stuck in one thing and known for one thing... It's fun to change things up, and I feel I don't have to overcompensate as much personality-wise when I have red hair as I do with blonde hair."

uhh interesting hair cut infesis on the CUT. i personally like the red look on her even though i dont like red heads (im not a hater) she worked that well but all of her beautiful locks have been cut off!!! first brittany and now this all the blondes have gone crazy (again im not a hater)

She's young, edgy, cute, and the hair cut is great. Plus, it's still long enough for her to change the look. It is an extremelt versatile cut. I applaud the artist!

I doubt she lopped off her "real hair"... Chances are it was hair extensions that had seen better days. the back of her hair looks fried, Maybe it's just the picture - but perhaps she had to cut it...

I hope she donated that hair she cut off to the ACS! They make human hair wigs for the ladies who lose their hair to chemotherapy. If you've got long locks and decide to crop them, please, please get in touch with the American Cancer Society. They'll put them to good use!

To each her own. It does not matter if we like it or not, if she likes it then go for it. Personally I do not like it at all, but that is just my opinion.
I love it! I've always wanted the courage to do that, it looks so cute!
She looks gorgeous in the picture. It's HAIR people. It grows back. The women I know who stick to long hair their whole life are usually just trying to please some man. Mine is long at the moment, but I chop it off every couple of years just to shake things up. It's very liberating, and it's fun.
It looks great! She has a very feminine face to pull it off :)
