Newlywed Kate Middleton changed into a stunning evening gown as she headed to her royal reception at Buckingham Palace.

As she did earlier in the day, Middleton wore a dress custom designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen.

Burton called designing Middleton's dress "the experience of a lifetime" and explained that "Alexander McQueen's designs are all about bringing contrasts together to create startling and beautiful clothes."

The clothier added: "The last few months have been very exciting and an incredible experience for my team and I as we have worked closely with Catherine to create this dress under conditions of the strictest secrecy."

She needs to gain a bit more weight...while the dresses are beautiful, both of the tops/bodice looks small for the fullness of the skirts.

I can't remember ever watching a wedding on tv, an being so emotional. Kate looked absolutetly amazing in her wedding gown and the one after. I wish them both a lifetime of love and happiness in all they do.

I can't imagine what was going through Kate's mind the entire day. I think I would have to pinch myself numerous times to make sure I was n't dreaming. She looked absouletly amazing in both dresses. I agree, what a great role model.

Absolutely stunning!!! The first and the second dress both in very beautiful ways! She is classy, elegant, and a real true LADY unlike the trashes in this world. This is a lady. She is a wonderful role model. Prince William picked the perfect woman. This is sooo my personal style and taste!
