Tom Brady's long, shaggy locks have become almost as popular his ability to throw touchdown passes. But as all good things come to an end, the NFL star has finally chopped off his locks into a clean-cut crew, which he debuted from underneath a baseball cap at a press conference in Foxborough, Mass. on Wednesday.

In the past, the New England Patriots quarterback has rocked styles including Justin Bieber man bangs, a ponytail and every shabby side-swept look in between.

"I just like to change it up," Brady, 34, told Women's Wear Daily on September 20. "I don't take it too seriously." Pointing to a friend close-by, he said, "Look at this guy, same haircut for eight years. There might be some cute girls out there who'd want to see something different."

But the star athlete's supermodel wife, Gisele Bundchen, has claimed that she's not looking for a change -- her husband's hair is his prerogative.

"[His hair is] his choice," she told New York Magazine's The Cut in May. "He can do whatever he wants because I'll love it no matter what. Short, long, red, whatever! It's all good!"

Just days before he chopped off his lust-worthy locks, hair care brand Pert Plus announced that their fans had voted Brady as having the NFL Quarterback with the best hair, pulling in 46 percent of the votes -- and beating out his AFC East rival, New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez.

Brady isn't the only handsome Tom in Hollywood to trade in his long hair for a shorter cut this week: In NYC on Tuesday, Tom Cruise debuted a new, cleaned-up look for his role in One Shot, in which he plays an ex-Army cop.
