Pippa Middleton is a serious competitor! The younger, scene-stealing sister to the Duchess of Cambridge took her 32nd birthday weekend to compete in 50-mile swimming and running race Ötillö in Stockholm, Sweden on Monday, Sept. 7, and looked flawless throughout the entire, grueling process.
Somehow Middleton managed to rock the swim cap, goggles, and froggie paddle look that all contestants must wear — without a drop of makeup — and showed off her famously svelte figure and toned legs in her wetsuit during the race.
The petite athlete performed the route, which travels around 26 of the country’s islands, with teammates including her brother James Middleton, her friend Jons Bartholdson, and her ex-boyfriend James Matthews.
According to the Daily Mail, contestants in the race are not allowed to remove their shoes in the swimming sections in the Baltic Sea. Middleton completed the event in 13 hours, 4 minutes, and 24 seconds with the sole help of hand paddles and goggles.
The team finished the challenge with victorious smiles. “I’m inspired by the scenery, the sense of adventure, and sheer distance that’s involved,” Middleton, who has been dating stockbroker Nico Jackson for two years told Reuters. “It’s relentless. Almost three Ironman swims and one and a half marathons. Much of the running is trail running on uneven ground, hopping over rocks on the shore line, dipping in and out of bays.” She was one of only 240 competitors and Middleton’s team raised money for the Michael Matthews Foundation, which helps to build schools in under-developed locations around the world, by participating in the event.
