The Knowles sisters are owning the VMAs! Solange Knowles made her mark on the red carpet at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, Aug. 24, when she showed up at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif., looking every bit like the R&B diva she was always destined to be.
The "Losing You" singer, 28, stunned in glittering black pants from H&M and a matching oversized tuxedo jacket with nothing underneath, scooped low to expose a hint of cleavage. Black heeled sandals and big, Diana Ross-esque hair completed the glam look.
Solange is not nominated for a VMA, but her older sister, music superstar Beyonce, is set to be honored at the show with the coveted Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. (Bey is also up for eight other awards, including Video of the Year for "Drunk in Love.")
Prior to accepting the award, Beyonce will perform a medley of some of her songs. Earlier on Sunday, Just Jared posted a leaked set list featuring 14 tracks from her self-titled visual album.
A lot has happened since the surprise release of the album in late 2013. In May, a few days after the annual Met Gala, video footage leaked of Solange and Beyonce's husband, Jay Z, fighting in an elevator at The Standard Hotel. The trio later released a statement saying they had moved past the incident, but the damage had already been done. Speculation about the cause of the fight, and about Bey's marriage to her rapper hubby, has been rampant ever since.
