Charice Pempengco -- who was once dubbed by Oprah Winfrey as "the Most Talented Girl in the World" -- is getting quite a makeover for her upcoming Glee debut.
The 18-year-old Filipino singer not only received Botox injections but also underwent a 30-minute Thermage anti-aging procedure.
The operations were part of an effort to make her "naturally round face" more narrow, celeb cosmetic surgeon Vicki Belo tells ABS-CBN television.

Charice says the makeover was necessary.
"All people will be anticipating how will Charice look? Is she good enough to pit against Rachel Berry [Glee actress Lea Michele]? So of course, there is tremendous pressure," explained the teen, who begins filming at the end of the month.

Previously, Charice -- who was raised by a single mother and sang in local contests before getting her big break on The Ellen DeGeneres Show at age 15 -- has said that it's "really a blessing" to be accepted and that she is "very proud to be an Asian, very proud to be Filipino."

Tell Us What You Think
58I just wanted to post a comment to see it in Sharpie font haha. But if you watch Glee they are always trying to show in the episodes that you should be who you are and that you are perfect just the way you are. So this just contradicts evrything Glee stands for.
who cares...all that matters is her awesome talent!!!!
She is stupid.
Hot Dayum....i think they are going to make this girl look uglier than she alrady is.SHARPIES ARE AWSUM!!
I am appalled at the comments against this girl. Botox for masseter hypertrophy is not a very well known procedure, I doubt if it was her idea in the first place. Poor girl. She had been criticized since she was 12 that she is too "moon-faced" for TV, and now she gets blasted for a TEMPORARY NON-INVASIVE procedure recommended by her godmother to fix it. Cultural factors are at play here. Masseter hypertrophy (big jaw after puberty, typical in east asian women) is more well known in the east than in the west, and is not recommended for women older than 40 due to loss of skin elasticity. Unfortunately, cosmetic procedures are becoming too popular even becoming 16th-18th birthday presents for debutantes. They are so common like getting a mani-pedi in S.Korea. Rare for a 20something celebrity there not to have had any. In Manila, celebrities are even endorsers for cosmetic clinics. Shame on Charice's manager for letting cameras roll. Charice is impressionable and respectful of her elders. Probably did not question much her godmother's recommendation of botox when she was told "your face is getting bigger due to gum". I believe Charice gave uninformed consent. Let's not judge her, let this be her first mistake as a new adult. She's allowed to make one. Shame on her godmother for using her goddaughter to market her clinic.
i dont understand why charice going to be botox.in the statement hindi na bagay na si charice magpapabotox dahil ba marami na siyang pera? hindi lahat nang tao nagvote na bagay si charice magpabotox imagine 57percentong tao ang hindi bagay daw ni charice magpabotox or dahil para her debut she going to be botox.
well, in fairness to charice, she should really go for botox and thermage procedure to enhance her looks. it's charice choice to undergo the said procedure, we should support her if this would make her happy., and charice badly needs this procedure.haahahaha > For Dr. Belo, this is a pure publicity for international beauty market, shes just using charice for personal gain!!!!
I don't understand why Charice has to go through all that vanity for a guest appearance on Glee. She's not the star of the show! Despite having a powerful voice, she still have a lot of insecurities. I feel sorry for her!
vicki belo knows well that charice is still young to experience all those procedures but she went with it anyways just to get her and her clinic pure publicity...Haven't you had enough enough publicity during your boyfriend's scandal, Dr.?????
I like how the comments show up - looks like handwriting..very neat! Charice still is the best 18 year old singer out there!
DEAR DR. VICKIE BELO, I AM BEGGING YOU TO NOT TO TOUCH CHARICE FACE, CHARICE LOOKS PRETTY AND DON'T NEED YOUR HELP, SHE'S TOO YOUNG TO DO THAT BOTOX INJECTIONS, THERMAGE, ETC. SPARE HER FACE PLEASE...NOT HER, PLS. DON'T RUIN HER FACE...SHE DON'T NEED THAT...FOR GOD SAKE SHE'S STILL A TEENAGER. SHE DON'T NEED A CORRECTION, THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH HER FACE, OK! OPRAH LOVES HER AND SO ARE WE, THE FILIPINO PEOPLE. TO CHARICE, PLS. DON'T LET HER TOUCH YOUR BEAUTIFUL FACE. LOVE WHAT GOD GAVE YOU, WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE SAME UNTOUCHED BEAUTIFUL FACE OF YOURS. WE LOVE YOU...ATE MALYNNE :)
Let's all get off our 'moral high horse' for a minute and realize that botox is commonplace in Hollywood, and a fast-growing trend among American teens. And secondly, 'Glee' is a cool show and all, but let's not naively put it up as a beacon of righteousness. Beyond the modus operandi of the age-old "underdog" story, it's really the same 'Hollywood' formula -- TOKEN characters surrounded by 'eye candy' and a good dose of sex. Right. I said it. Glee is Ugly Betty 2.0, where all the characters are fairly good-looking, and Betty is the show's sympathetic backdrop. Charice, though young, impressionable and naive, was merely another victim of of the vulture culture that preys on fame and attention. It's media sensationalism at work, for better or for worse. People will talk and throw their opinions for a few days and 'experts' and 'expert-wannabees' will weigh-in with the PROS and CONS before the whole issue runs out of steam. Once the smoke clears, it will be lamented as a silly issue by the 'regurgitating herd'.
DO NOT call her as the Miley Cyrus of Asia!!! She isn't Miley Cyrus, she is a serious singer like Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. So far the Korean singer BoA has the title as the Britney/Miley Cyrus of Asia.
Botox? Really? Charice does not need that! She is talented already. P.S Sharpies ;-)
This is sad. ):
This is fascinating. I didn't know they did such things.
I find it very hard to believe that it was completely Charice's idea for this. it is clearly her producers and advisers that are trying to Americanize her for the American public to 'accept" her as a person. Honestly? She doesn't need to be Americanized for people to like her. When she went on Star King, they didn't Korean-ize her so that the South koreans would like her, they just liked her for christ's sake. I refuse to believe or accept this until a reliable source does.
Charice is a beautiful young woman with beautiful, Filipino features. To say that those features need to be changed to fit in with the other actresses on Glee (a show which sucks, BTW) is disgusting. I am very disappointed to read this.
Fact or Fictions? Facts-"invasive" procdure was done of course with the advise of Charice's Godmother/Cosmetic Doctor in the Phils and with a media present & by the Godmother/Doctor herself. This Doctor was also included in the scandal her BF was involved in? Charice was a hot commodity & GOOD indorser in the Phils right now. Fiction-I'll advise fr d Doctor?, a big endorsement move (note d media)?, or a user?, or another divisive move? Your call? Charice...b careful? Remember Gary Coleman!
charice is an honest person and talented, there are lots of artist in this world who undergo physical enhancement not just charice, leave this sweet little girl she's just sweet and kind and very talented
