I am so tired of the cold weather and everything that comes with it: sniffling noses, slushy piles of snow and functional footwear. So to celebrate the spring season, I started hunting for a groovy pair of platform shoes ('70s-inspired fashion is super hot right now). My requirements: that they're sky-high (I don't want my beloved bell-bottoms to get shredded from dragging on the sidewalk), and comfortable enough to run around in all day.

This sweet Free People slingback, peep-toe style (called the "Crosby") features a 4 1/2 inch chunky wooden heel with a 2 1/4 inch platform and comes in black with beige trim or dark brown with Tiffany blue trim. They have a boho-chic vibe that's not too costume-y, plus they look cute with everything from dresses and shorts to jeans and skirts. Love them! ($148. freepeople.com)
