Winter, meet the dress that does it all! Olivia Wilde sported a heather-gray version of Baldwin's Martine shirt dress on December 29, and as far as we can tell, it's the perfect way to make it through the cold temps in 2016. In fact, we've found at least five reasons why it fits the bill.

1. It's both dressy and casual.

With its modern silhouette, the collared button-down operates like a blank canvas that can be paired with low-key and dressier items alike. Wilde, 31, looks comfortable and casual, but fits right in at the MoMA in NYC for the screening of her film Meadowland.

2. It keeps you warm.

Since the Martine is a wool blend, the fabric is ultrawarm, but stays softer than 100 percent wool, which can be scratchy and heavy.

3. It's versatile — seriously.

This isn't just a dress. If you style it unbuttoned, it becomes the perfect duster coat. Or you could throw a sweater over it for a more preppy look. Pair it with opaque tights and flats for a dainty vibe, or belt it to lend a polished accent.

4. It's structured, but not form-fitting.

In the colder months, it's sometimes nice to have a little more room to cover up any extra holiday meals and to trap in body heat. Wilde demonstrates that outfits don't need to be skintight to be flattering. The getup gives her an hourglass figure while not clinging to every curve.

5. It won't break the bank

For a celeb find, this frock is pretty affordable. Pick it up for only $225 at Baldwin.co.

Would you wear this gray ensemble in the winter?
