Tilda Swinton Wears High Fashion Feathered Slippers on Red Carpet: So Hot or So Not?
Birds of a feather… take fashion risks together? Tilda Swinton made quite a squawk on the red carpet at the Berlin premiere of the Grand Budapest Hotel on Thursday, Feb. 6.
In typical Swinton style, the Oscar-winning actress wore a menswear-inspired outfit: a black slouchy suit and jacket from Schiaparelli's spring 2014 couture collection complete with ruffles and a white shirt. The natural redhead debuted a platinum blonde hair color at the premiere, and paired her outfit with a large cocktail ring and bold red lipstick.
But it was Swinton's footwear plumage that has Us perplexed. The 53-year-old chose a pair of black thong-style slippers embellished with matching feathers to round out her menswear look. The shoes, directly from Schiaparelli's Parisian runway, also revealed the star's bright red toenail lacquer.
The British star is known for making many high fashion statements at awards shows. In 2008, the Best Supporting Actress Oscar recipient (for her work in legal thriller Michael Clayton) chose a memorable black velvet Lanvin gown that landed her on multiple worst dressed lists. Swinton has also been lauded for her daring outfits, too. The star wore a gorgeous baby blue Haider Ackermann gown to the 2012 Golden Globes that instantly catapulted her onto numerous best-dressed lists.
So tell Us: What do you think of her footwear? So hot or so not?
