Tim Gunn wasn't gaga over Lady Gaga's buzzed-about "meat dress" at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.
He said on Lopez Tonight Thursday that the frock -- cut together by designer Franc Fernandez from slabs of raw meat -- is "a costume of the craziest kind ... it's shock value pure and simple."

But he said it didn't take him by surprise: He's seen similarly daring looks during the "profound fashion revolution of the 1960s," citing the clear clear plastic vinyl dress as one example.

"I respect Lady Gaga and her work, but we've been here before," he said. "So, Lady, it's been done ... be more creative."
