Cyrus shocked fans when she danced on a stripper pole in booty shorts at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards. "I'm really comfortable with my body," the singer has said. "I work really hard to be fit and to know that I can wear whatever makes me most comfortable."

71She makes my stomach turn. She was supposed to be a role model for our young girls, now a pole dancer? So, it's OK to go from good role model to pole dancing for our young girls..... Outstanding. the outfit is cute, I didn't see anything wrong with the performance she simply stood on the cart and sang and did one little move the pole had to be there to keep her balance. And its not like she was twirling and grinding on the pole

honestly ppl are over reacting about her outfit. it's pretty and if u have the body, rock it. but she crossed the line with dancing on a stripper pole.. for this, she wants attention
parents should let kids idolize them and not miley..so watever Miley did wouldnt bother them so much..im 22 and i wear outfits like that, when i was younger i wore it-i dont see why people judge her so much-wats da big deal-she's a star...not a saint (Selena used to wear only a bra)she can pole dance if she wants..give her a break
I don't see the problem with the outfit, either. Walk into your local department store and peruse the juniors department - these shorts are no different than the ones offered to your daughters on a daily basis. However... pole dancing at the Teen Choice Awards? Who arranged this show and thought, "Yep, that's suitable for the Nickelodeon audience!" Amazing.

Personally i dont have a problem with Hannah Montana or Miley Cyrus. but she was in fact pole dancing . im not understanding how that is racist though. i also believe she is becoming more and more like Brittany Spears with her new songs and the ways she acts. and i dont see a problem with children idolizing her or making her their roll model but they should not want to follow that example.
Give me a break!!!! SHES A TEENAGER!!!! IN SHORTS!!!! I am 34 years old and I remember wearing the same stuff!!! Some of you are being way to hard on Miley. YOU are responsible for raising your children. ITS NOT THE STARS RESPONSIBLITY!!!!! I am a mom of 4. My oldest two are 9 and 7(soon 8), both girls, and they watch Miley all the time. She is NOT at all a bad role model. The ones that are down on her so hard obviously have not read anything about her point of views on anything. She is a VERY smart, talented girl and her parents did an awsome job raising her. After all, shes not a drunk or use drugs. Miley, sweetie, keep up the great work you do. Stay strong. Only God has the right to judge you and obviously He approves because He has blessed you tons in you life. I pray for you all the time. Keep that smart head on your shoulders!
You people need to be learning how to spell and write complete sentences instead of worrying about Miley Cyrus. She is a singer, that's all, not an idol for teens. Look what happens when you let your kids idolize celebrities, Tiger Woods, Fantasia, Miley Cyrus, Brittany Spears, Michael Phelps, Michael Jackson, ... just not good.

It wasnt even a stripper pole. If you look at the whole picture she is standing on top of an ice cream cart. God, the paparatzi just want to make her seem like this horrible person.

OK Miley, your 17, how hard do you really have to work at have a good figure, cmon now, tell me when your thirty after having a few kids later in life how hard you work at keeping a good body then someone might want to know how, but right now you are lacking parental advice.... Just saying!

I have hight standard as a mother for children. I am a full time college student and so as my husband. We both raise our elven years old daughter and have hight expectation for her and imparted moral into her life so she can judge what she’s watching is wrong or right. I am very disappointed with Hanna for showing off this way. It is not a matter of working hard to build a great body to show your body parts, but it is how you conduct yourself for the young kids that does not have, for some reason a roll model to look up too.In this case you should not be singing for young kids. It is not what you wear makes who you are, it is who you are which is what you wear. It is a shame with such talent that artist should act this way to get attention. I loved watching your show and you are a raw and true talent girl, but I am no longer feel the need for my young daughter to continue watching show to be influence by this type of image. If you dress like bait, you will be treated like bait. Sorry, Miley, if I don’t dress this way as mother, my daughter will not be dressing this way. I always tell my daughter, you do not have to dress assert way to get friends or act assert way to be accepted. Be what God what you to be and stay innocence as a child. Offends to you Miley.
