  Doesn't work, Ive tried it. One of them ended it, one of them didn't. So even though he might think they are just buds now, the one that didn't end it still has hope and is hanging on, hoping that the "friends" bit will eventually get them back into the "romantic" bit. Someone is going to get hurt again; what's going to happen when the person finds another he/she wants to "bed". The so called "friend" is going to be jealous and not like it one bit. Human nature, it can't be helped. As much as people may want to lie about it, it's the truth. Only scenario, if you're divorced and have kids and have to get along for their sake, then there's no choice. If you're single, be cordial, but move on. Stop hanging on in the "friend" mode hopeing for a reconciliation.

Shannon used Derek for publicity and still is. She broke up with him. He's embarassing himself running around telling anyone who will listen how in love with her he is. She doesn't want to be with him, but she sure does want to hang in his spotlight and get photographed with him every day. The only way she gets any attention is if she's with him and she knows it.

  Derek Hough used Shannon for publicity and her house for his band. He is still using her for publicity for himself to keep talking about the breakup. He did not treat her right and now he will move to his next stepping stone for fame.

  He is not very honest. He was so busy when he got involved with Shannon. He is young - playing the field - money changes people too. He's not attending the Mormon church anymore? As long as he's having fun and not in trouble, he's doing OK.
