Kelly Rowland: Beyonce Kept It "Classy" During Kanye Outburst

Monday – September 14, 2009 – 2:45pm

Kelly Rowland is applauding Beyonce, her former Destiny's Child partner, for the mature way she handled herself at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards.

After winning video of the year, Beyonce, 28, invited Taylor Swift, 19, on stage to finish her Best Female Video acceptance speech, which Kanye West, 32, famously interrupted earlier in the night because he felt Beyonce deserved to win.

"Beyonce is such a classy, gracious woman," Rowland, 28, told Usmagazine.com at Monday's Jill Stuart fashion show in NYC. "I actually Tweeted that, and everybody was like, "It's so true.'"

Rowland said she thought West's stunt was "disturbing."

"I think that as a music industry and a fellow artist, it’s important to know that there is room for everybody," she told Us. "Kanye is a genius -  no one takes that away from him, but [he should] be moral and be a [good] person."

VMA host Russell Brand defended West, who later apologized for the incident, during an interview on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show Monday.

"We're just people; we all do things that are a bit silly sometimes," he said. "Calm down; no one died."

Beyonce's reaction was one of utter disbelief when Mr. West did his thing. I cannot believe that you guys are spreading disinformation about her reaction. Watch the video. Beyonce is not happy about what's happening. Give it a rest. Beyonce has class. The same cannot be said about Mr. West and several of the people making comments here.

And to the redneck @ 7:48 & 7:50 - keep hating on Black people since they could care less about your feelings and will continue to out do you in life any way while you're in the barn screwing your Grandmother while your Pop is doing your sister. Tell your Grandmother to take her teeth out this time so the trailers won't hear you scream.

Beyonce has won Best Female 2-3 times and in total has won 11 MTV Awards. She won Video of the Year which is the biggest award so she was very happy and had no problem sharing the stage with Taylor. She's sweet and geniune and you could see it in her reaction - she was laughing jerks.

The sad thing commentary regarding PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN WHO DESPISES RACIST PUNKS' comment is that USMagazine would retort and say all users comments are those exercising their right to free speech. See what Free Speech gives us (no pun intended)? The right to make asses of ourselves even when others make asses of themselves.

I'm black & I love Taylor Swift, she is so classy, smart& sweet girl. she'll write a song about him in her next album.

I can not believe that a national publication has allowed a post with such offensive language to remain on their site....I don't approve at all with what Mr. West did last night but I don't approve of the use of racial slurs either....I am white and I am offended by that post. Since this country has become so sue happy, maybe I should have the ip address investigated and sue the writer and US Magazine for offending my moral values. HMMMM.....a couple of million from each defendant would be nice....then I would donate it to help erase the ignorance that is caused by males and females who use such ignorance laced language. Act like you have some education and raising and use proper language. One day someone will knock some sense and couth into that racist pea brained body of yours. Shame on you US Magazine for allowing such racist propaganda to be spread across the country and the USA as well. SHAME SHAME SHAME!!!!!!

I saw it with my own eyes, as did the entire world.... she was laughing & smiling & saying, "Oh Kanye!" but afterwards, she had a chance to think about it & maybe she saw Taylor's tears in her eyes & shock on her face.... and then she did what she had to do to keep her own respectability! But this is not about Beyonce. I love her. This is about Kanye. I think that man is the BIGGEST AS*HOLE on the face of this planet. He makes me sick. I can't stand to even see his face anymore on tv. I will forever change the channel, I will not buy his music anymore.... UGLY IS AS UGLY DOES. And I have lost ALL respect for him. Everything, to ambush a young star, barely out of her teens like that on ANTIONAL TELEVISION & MAKE HER CRY!!!!!!!!!! What a PUNK. He deserves a slap in the face. I sincerely HOPE he was forcefully escorted out of there & told not to return. That POS!

Beyonce did the right thing. She is a good person, from what was seen last night. People shouldn't hate others. Don't let him get to you, that's what he wants.

I saw Boyonce's reaction to what Kanye said and it was pure amused laughter with a huge smile to follow. There was no look of shock or disapproval at all. Her calling Taylor up on stage was just a pure save for her reaction that was caught on camera. Nice gesture but totally self serving because again she was caught on camera.

The fact is: in 20 years nobody will remember Kanye West, Taylor Swift, or Beyonce. They are utterly forgetable performers. Try saying that about the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Madonna or Michael Jackson, to name a few memorable artists.

I don't think Beyonce was laughing..she looked shocked...and in disbelief....and I don't care how much people think Kanye is talented...it doesn't make up for his mouth! His disrespect....how would he have handled it...if Billy Joe from Green Day came up and said, I think Einmem should have won....had it been that case? The world would have been in an uproar...I just love the double standards that are going on now!! Kanye would have been pissed and holy terror would have reign down on everyone...on how dare anyone diss him..during his acceptance speech!! His actions are inexcusable and he is tanking his own career!!!!

I saw how Beyonce laughed while Kanye was being obnoxios and disruptive. Nice save at the end Beyonce.
