What does Shania Twain want for her 44th birthday?

For fans to visit her official site, where the country singer announced that she'll be giving them "a small gift" on Aug. 28.

For the first time since her appearance at the Country Music Awards in November, Twain spoke publicly through a video on her site. "Hi everyone, Shania here," Twain says in the video, which was filmed at her home in Switzerland with two of her dogs. "First to start off... thank you for all the beautiful birthday wishes for [8-year-old son] Eja's birthday."

She adds: "Secondly, if you haven't already seen on my Web site, for August 28 on my birthday, I will be giving you a small gift of thanks for all of your support over the last year."

The star split from her husband, Robert "Mutt" Lange in May 2008 after he had an affair with her best friend, Marie-Anne Thiebaud, who also managed the couple's Swiss chateau. In June, Twain used her site to post a personal letter saying that she was "managing very well" and "experiencing and seeing new things every day, living life with a different and more optimistic attitude."

Her site currently includes a countdown until her birthday, which is nine days from now.

"You've been really wonderful. Thank you so much," she says before petting one of her dogs. "And Dolly thanks you, too. We'll see you soon!"
