  They are not necessarily in a common law marriage. A key requirement for a common law marriage is that the couple consider themselves "married" and present themselves to others as a married couple. You don't suddenly become married to someone through common law just because you lived with him/her for a long time or had children together.

  i'm fine if don't believe in marriage or needing to get married to prove their love for one another but i guess i just don't understand people who think like that. i think they're children are going to wonder why arent my mommy and daddy married when everyone elses is....... but i guess if they're happy this way and feel like marriage would destroy what they have then so be it.

  Whether they like it or not they are in a common law marriage. That's the law and having children means they will have to go through a divorce to break the ties.

  I know that Nicole has a terrible history with drugs, but I do believe that Joel Madden is the one for her. It is obvious. You can see it in her eyes. So what? They're not married. I had two of my six children when I was not married. I do believe that they are perfect for eachother. Harlow is adorable, and I am sure that Sparrow will be as well.

  Not long after they met, Nicole became pregnant (and again) because that is the only way she will have a guy. Joel is to kind, but in time he will be tired of the manipulations and will leave her. Too bad for the childre, but it was Nicole's trick. Back to drugs.

  What about getting married for their child's sake?? I know you wanna preach love and nothing else should matter... but as a kid don't you think you'd want your parents to be married? I think it's selfish and I think people are becoming waaaayy to liberal with these matters.
