The media has been looking for a smudge on this girl from day one. That's how they turn child stars into big money in their bank accounts. If they can't find dirt in the closet they manufacture it. Then the kids figure "what's the point?" and proceed to live up to the expected/published bad behavior. In my younger days we had teen idols and sports heroes and political heroes we looked up to ... and yeah, they made mistakes sometimes --they were real people. BUT the media wasn't out to crucify every celebrity for a buck. It wasn't a badge of honor to be the first to put a celebrity head on the chopping block. The real losers now are our kids. They're learning that no one can really be good (so why try).... no one is safe from the filth hungry media and public (so why try)..... no one is worthy of the least bit of faith (so why try)..... the worst is expected of everyone (so why try)......

Miley Cyrus should be held accountable for taking the semi-topless Vanity Fair photos, Michele Combs, a spokesperson for Christian Coalition of America, tells Usmagazine.com.
"Disney should reprimand her," Combs says.
Combs is calling for a televised press conference, where "Miley should say it was a mistake and that kids have to be very careful at such a young age." (Cyrus issued a statement, apologizing; the Disney Channel claims the magazine "manipulated" her, which Vanity Fair denies.)
"Kids look up to her," Combs adds. "Something needs to be done."
Miley, 15, also admitted in the interview that Sex and the City is her favorite TV show.
"If she's gonna go out there and represent wholesome values, she needs to be more accountable for her actions," Combs says.
Combs adds that famed photographer Annie Leibovitz has "a reputation for doing racy things ... Miley should have thought this out before she agreed to go in front of Annie."
She said the photos — as well as other ones of a lingerie-clad Cyrus that recently hit the Internet — are "very disappointing ... sad.
The photos are "gonna hurt a lot of people," Combs says. "It's gonna hurt her image.
"She was the one person out there who everyone seemed to trust," Combs adds. "She should have been more thoughtful."
Dr. Bill Maier, child and family psychologist of the Colorado-based organization Focus on the Family, also calls the photos "a big mistake.
"Her career has been based on her squeaky clean image," he tells Us. "If she made the choice, it wasn't the best decision."
He advises parents to address the situation with their kids.
"It would behoove parents to sit down with daughters," he says. "This provides a great opportunity to talk about some of these issues and the decisions we make: What are our values? What do we expect from our kids? Are these photos something that's acceptable in our family?"

The Cyrus family shouldn't bite the hand that feeds. The majority of Miley's audience are young, impressionable girls whose parents felt she was a role model and contributed to the gravy train of the Hannah Montana empire. As easily as we allowed the shows, music, and merchandise into our homes, we can take it away too. I have two daughters who enjoyed the show and have their fair share of memorabilia. I assure you I won't be purchasing any concert tickets next time she rolls through town or support her if she doesn't get her act together quick.
It's not that I don't understand that kids grow up and they do make mistakes but I think what is most frustrating to me is that this scandal is on the heels of her signing a 7 figure deal for her "memoir" at the age of 15! How on top of the world does she want to be? I heard she did the Vanity Fair shoot to broaden her audience but why doesn't she just relish in the moment and enjoy her young audience?
I also don't think the backless photo is near as provocative as the photo of her sprawled out with her head in her dad's lap. It's great to have a good relationship with your father but there comes a point where you need to refrain from things like, sitting in dad's lap, holding hands, hugging and groping all over each other. I assure you that image feeds into a predators thoughts than the solo photo.
Billy Ray, please, let her be a kid and don't exploit her to ignite your own career.
The link Us Mag provided was a really creamy greatest hits slideshow of all my fave starlets just the way I like to see them. But after such a titilating warm-up, the "semi-topless" view of Miley's back was nothing like the kind of climax I was looking forward to. I know this is supposed to be a vapid celebrity flap and all, but can't you at least scare up a scandal with some actual substance to drool over?
I am an aspiring actress/vocalist. I just made a trip to New York and made my first single. I find it RIDICULOUS that Miley would even consider the photos that I’ve seen floating around lately. She had the world at her fingertips and millions of little ears waiting to hear that good girls with morals finish first and that they can succeed at anything they want to do in life. I have done all but physically walk to New York to try to get things started for me, and I just can’t believe that she had such an amazing opportunity to break the horrible anorexic/sexually irresponsible/ “hurry up and grow up” cycle and start a positive movement for young girls, but dropped the ball.
I totally believe in “everyone makes mistakes,” but she isn’t just an “everyone” she is THE Hannah Montana, THE face plastered all over 6 year olds’ shirts. And maybe one photo, but I’ve seen about 5 racy photos? I believe that the actions taking place, the bad publicity, angry parents, is perfectly understandable.
And I hope she learns from them, grows up, admits her mistakes, and EVERYONE moves on. But if she won't take the blame, and explain it to her little fans in a way that they understand it was a bad thing, and they shouldn't do it, I think she does deserve some sort of consequence.
This is an opportunity for her to teach these girls a lesson out of a bad mistake. . .
I just know many people would kill to be in her shoes and have her platform to use to better the world and views of young girls. If she can’t handle the responsibility, I’ll be happy to step in and take her place!
Christian Coalition read this verse Matthew Chapter 7:5-"Do not judge,or you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Take this verse to heart Christian Coalition!!!!!!!!
Hello, I here a lot coming from parents and other people. But my name is Shana, and I am a Miley Cyrus fan. I watch her show faithfully, I attend her concerts, I have her books and clothes, accesories, etc.And I feel a couple of different things. Miley is a role model, not only to me but to my little sister. And yes, I agree she should think about her actions because it's true, a lot of girls AND teenagers are looking at her. BUT, at the same time, I came to realize that she's human. She's not perfect. I'm sure that we'v all done something that we regret. Now imagine having it magnified and made public for everyone in the world to judge and see. She's under a lot of pressure with the media, trying to present the perfect image. And I'm not excusing her actions I just want you to see a fan's point of view. Yes, she made a mistake, but she's only human. Sometimes we forget, when it comes to famous people, that they are human. It doesn't matter if your a Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Catholic, or any other religion. We all make mistakes. The point is to learn from them. So from a Miley Fan's point of view, that's how I feel.
The worse role model for young girls? The hate filled venom dripping sexually repressed religious right!
As a young woman she should carry herself with dignity not saying that she isn't but when you are out in the public eye it will save her a lot of drama now and in the future. She is 15 and she is a roll model for those little girls. I have an after school program and the little girls that I have look up to her...
And to Argentina how dare you say something like that...How could you bring Jesus into a matter like this. How do you know that he wrapped himself in a blanket? So if you point fingers at Jesus then what about the Muslims that wrap themselves in their dress ware....
It is an abomination for you to call (if you were calling) Jesus a slut....
OMG WHO GIVES A CRAP! I have an idea, why don't all the parents that care get a life and get that giant stick removed from your ass! Seriously, just because the Christians in this country want to whack everyone with a "clean" stick doesn't mean we all have to start apologizing to them. She is a young adult discovering her sexuality, big deal. And it just shows how sad the Christian Coalition is that they have nothing better to do than pick on some young kid, why not bother our government about Darfur or world hunger? Actual issues.
Frankly, I think she's an immature, self-absorbed coward. Why? Her refusal to take the blame for her actions here. Claiming that Vanity Fair and Annie L. "manipulated" her and behaved in a sinister, exploitative manner? Please! She knew how she was posing, she knew what she was wearing (or not wearing) and how the shot was set-up when she did it. Her father and assorted entourage on the day knew perfectly well what the shot was going to look like, as well. She's trying to act like a victim - and it's just pathetic.
Miley Cyrus is a horrible role-model for young girls. She's arguably even worse than Vanessa Hudgens and Jamie Lynn Spears, because at least those two didn't try to blame anyone else for their own choices and actions. The only example Miley is setting is that it's okay to act like a tart and refuse to accept responsibility for your mistakes.
My 12 year old daughter adores Miley. Her parents obviously still makes decisions for her and I think they should be careful as the press will always try and exploit these young (or any) stars. Apparently Miley was not naked in the Vanity Fair shoot. She was fully clothed underneath the sheets, but it just goes to show. Just look what happened to Britney. She should also not trust anyone. Everybody will try to make money off her. Even these photos that surfaced could have been completely innocent. You know you show your bra to a friend who takes a photo for the fun of it. Next thing you know it is all over the internet. It happens all the time.
This is just like Britney on Rolling Stone years back. She was laying on the floor wearing a bra, boy shorts, she was holding the purple Tellietubbie doll, talking on the phone while sucking on a lollipop. Now, in my opinion I saw nothing wrong with that picture, but people still saw something wrong with it, because just the way it was shown showed a suggestiveness to it. A very sexy suggestion. Now, I look at these Miley pics and these are WAY overboard. She's a 15 year old girl. Are you telling me Annie L. couldn't have done something different with this 15 year old girl? Also, in my opinion, the pics of her with her father are beyond creepy too. The point is, we're not looking at that pic of Miley as beautiful, most are going to look at it diffrently. When protraying a 15 year old girl, you have to make it tasteful. Her laying on a bed, her hair messy, smudged red lipstick, showing her naked back while holding onto a sheet looks totally slutty, especially when she has this sexy look on her face that suggests she just got doing sexual things. You don't protray a 15 year old girl this way. I would think those that think this is no big deal would probably feel differently if you found pics of your daughter like this. She has a lot of girls of all ages that look up to her. She protrays this GOOD image to the young girls. Don't protray one image and than want to be a slut on the flip side. How about them other pictures of her too? When people say a lot of other 15 year old girls do this...well, yeah, I expect that, most 15 year old girls of today have no respect for themselves and most think it's cute or sexy, but it's slutty. I don't have high expectations for 15 year old girls these days, because they have no morals at all. When you want to represent yourself as a slutty, easy girl, you won't get any respect. That's why you have tons of under-age girls doing kiddie p0rn on the Internet and stuff...no values at all, they think it's okay, but it isn't.
You mean teenagers think about sex?!?!?!?! Teen girls crave attention and want to look pretty?!?!? OH MY GOD!!! I am absolutely 100% certain that my 16-year-old daughter has never once thought about sex, ever. That's my denial and I'm sticking to it.
OH DEAR OH DEAR ANOTHER DISNEY STAR GONE "BAD" Brit was a MOUSKETEER, ( look at her now oh dear oh dear ) look at Lindsey Lohan( uh oh this is a baaaad girllll ) one of Disneys stars.....seems to me its some what of a curse isn't it??????
A 15 year old posing semi nude or in a nighty or a sheet or whatever is still going a bit far. Yea Vanessa Hudgens did pose nude but If I recall she was several years older than Miley when she had those photos taken..
Billy Ray had his 15 min of fame, his career has been so so, now hes riding on his daughters shirt tails.
To be honest this whole thing is a washout and plain boring,, move on to the next child star.Miley is just a long line of kiddie stars who are going to screw up along the way with the help of the Media...
Miley was tricked into doing the shoot? Gimme a break!!! Has she or anyone in her camp ever SEEN an issue of Vanity Fair? This is typical of their pictorials. Also, did they bother to do any research on Annie Lebowitz? What did they expect? It's not porno, it's sophisticated photography. Lebowitz is NOT a pervert; she's one of the most celebrated photographers ever. She took the last photos of John Lennon, among others. If Disney is that concerned, they should simply stop her from doing any mainstream publicity because photo shoots like this in the mainstream media are the norm, and when her contract expires, she can do whatever she wants. Look at Cosmo, Rolling Stone, and others. Sex sells. Always have, always will.
OMG ...sbhaopdibvioasdvndiofbndsafn thats what i think
So just because the bulk of her fans are 5-10 years old, she's supposed to act like she's 5-10 all the time too? Please. She's not a child, she is a teenager. She should be allowed to act liek a teenager: goofy, flirty, and yes even curious/exploratory on her blossoming sexuality. There's nothing wrong or inappropriate about showing her bare shoulders and back.
The creepy pictures with her father where they gaze and caress like lovers is even more disturbing. Annie Liebovitz is a pervert. The Cyruses have pimped out their little girl. Sad.
"Take your top off so I can take your picture."
How on any level is that ok to say a 15 year old?
I believe some sort of action should be taken, but we'll just have to wait & see to find out!? Also, Amy Poehler & Will Arnett's baby is due sometime in the fall! Sorry for not mentionting it!?, etc. Forgive me yet again for my mistake!?
Teenage girls are wearing much less than that, even to school! The mini-mini skirts that show everything, the lowrider jeans that when they sit down show their butt crack, backless shirts and strapless dresses.....Miley is a human being just like the rest of the world. Magazines just want to make their big bucks and they don't care who it is they hurt as long as they get their money. Disney even made a comment stating 'the magazines were looking for a way to stir up trouble and make money." People are just out to get these young girls today but we are the ones stupid enough to buy there trash to keep them in business.
this is why people don't like christians, you're all a bunch of repressed prudes.
you people are being stupid, it is just a back, nothing more than you'll see at the beach, so she's got a sheet around her,it could just as well be a towel, i think it is just pervy old guys drawing their own conclusions, the most destructive thing to young adults is repressed sexuality, share the love, , and i think christians should STFU!
just an opinion
Okay Mikayla being popular isn't everything and wanting your child to be popular is just dumb. When I was younger all the popular girls were stuck up little sluts. So I don't think that I would like my daughter to be popular. And if you like that guys are all over her then whatever, but personaly I wouldn't want my daughter to have guys all over her wanting the one thing that guys want. All I have to say is that you are one ignorant mother.
"Miley, 15, also admitted in the interview that Sex and the City is her favorite TV show."
Oh, dear God, here we go again. This admission is much worse than any of the photos. That's what Lindsay Lohan said, now look at her.
This is getting way too out of hand. Remember when Brittney Spears was on the cover of Rolling Stones with just a bra and (i think) underwear. That caused a stir in the pot. At least Miley is not pregnant at 15 unlike another famous teenager. Everyone's opinion is going to be different because no one thinks alike, especially when it comes to art.
I guess you put me in my place Argentina with your caps and exclamation points... I am just so ashamed. LOL!
It's her back, ok? Her back. She didn't kill anyone, drive while taking drugs, send a million men off to war, steal, lie, cheat, bully or harm anyone. Her back, no not even her entire back, just some of it is in a photograph. Is this going to change the world? I don't think so... I can't believe people are outraged by this.
3:31 PM B Says:
i know here in oklahoma the photographers at wal-mart, j.c. penney's as well as a few others can no longer take nude photo's of babies. They have to at least be in a diaper.
In the mall there are pictures of babies with just a blanket draped over them or completely naked with their parent laying in the background for photography studios, now that is disturbing. Miley did what her parents decided for her by being photographed in mature poses, when she is still a child. Magazine editors do not have morals or ethics, look at this magazine. Money was thrown at her and her family. Billy Ray knows what 15 minutes of fame is like and they are trying to take everything they can get while it lasts for his daughter.
