Shannon Elizabeth was the latest celeb sent home on Dancing With the Stars Tuesday. But the night's real shocker: Cristian de la Fuente will remain on the show.
On Monday's show, the Chilean soap star suffered a severe muscle cramp in his arm while performing the samba with partner Cheryl Burke.
With his arm in a brace, de la Fuente told host Tom Bergeron Tuesday that he had ruptured a tendon and will need to undergo surgery.
The good news, said de la Fuente: "I just talked to the doctor, and he said he can delay the surgery. If people vote for us, I would like to be here and not give up."
Asked if he's comfortable taking such a risk, de la Fuente replied, "Oh, yeah, of course!"
Burke told Usmagazine.com on Monday, "If he can't come back, then I will not continue. There is nothing I can do -- he is my second half."

Christian should have left, i dont think anyone would have thought less of him. he's gonna injure himself more. and its gonna get worse.

Kristi do not have an unfair advantage. Ballroom dancing originated from countries outside Asia. While she has the ability to learn the technique, what is important is to put character and content in the dance to make it a beautiful art. Asian women by nature are reserved in their physical expressions specially in public. Putting character in the dance is her biggest challenge. At this moment therefore, I would consider her the most improved dancer.

Cristian is stupid to risk his health by continuing to dance instead of getting the surgery he needs. It is not that serious! Oh that's right his injury is a fake, so he's really not risking anything at all! Sympathy votes never last.

I think Shannon and Derek went home because they were really obnoxious last week when they got their scores and Shannon threw a temper tantrum. I still wish Christian went home last night...how is he going to finish the season when he has an injury bad enough to need surgery. No chance he'd win the overall competition anyway.

I am glad Cristian gets to stay!!! HE tried to continue his dance even though he was hurt. I think Shannon Should be the one to go home, what her and Derek said last week is probably why they went home and they should have.

It was no shock to me that Cristian is staying and again no shock that the two whiners went home. I was more shocked that Derek behaved so unprofessionally last week and it dropped him down a notch or two in my opinion.
One of the best things about this show is that there isn't bickering and criticizing among the contestants. There's enough of that with the judges.

I am actually sad to see Shannon and Derek go home. I loved watching their sexual tension and vibe between them. I am glad to see Christian is staying. It will be interesting to see what comes of Shannon and Derek's "relationship." I do think that last weeks blow up was what did them in this week.

Shannon & Derek deserved to go home after their bat attitudes last week, Tuesday, April 22nd! Cristian just needs to be careful so he doesn't injure his bicep more! And I hope he gets the surgery as soon as possible, etc. But, it's great that Cristian's doctor is delaying the surgery until after DWTS is over, etc.

it is not surprising that Shannon was sent home especially after her and her partner's raging attitudes last week. They did not mention if Christain will be back to normal next week though. will he be dancing with this "brace?"

So glad that Cristian stays, he is a TRUE CONTESTANT, dances with grace, elegance and right energy, without over doing it or messed up with other dances foot steps. Way to go Cristian and bless you!
