Dannielynn Undergoes Eye Surgery

Larry Birkhead says his 17-month-old daughter Dannielynn has undergone eye surgery.

"Dannielynn is home from surgery and resting comfortably," Birkhead tells Entertainment Tonight.

Birkhead had previously told Usmagazine.com that he was considering surgery for his daughter, who suffers from strabismus, or the turning in of one of her eyes. The condition is common in about 5 percent of children and cannot be outgrown.

Birkhead and Dannielynn recently returned from the Bahamas, where they paid their respects to Dannielynn's mother, Anna Nicole Smith, who died a year this month.

The 1st surgery needs to be done before 2nd birthday. The little girl is adorable. He is doing the best he can. Hey, they are going to take the pix anyway, he might as well make money doing it. Lord knows how long Anna's money is going to be "tied" up. He is supporting his child the best way he can, just like the rest of us, so don't judge him. I too have had this surgery(and that was back in the 70's when it wasn't done all the time). I had it 3 times. My eyes have been perfect ever since. My first surgery was at age 3 and my last at 9. I am VERY grateful to my parents for doing it. Good choice Larry.

I'm Dannielynn is doing ok after having eye surgery to correct her lazy eye, which is known as Strabismus, are far sighted! And my praises go to Larry Birkhead for doing a great job of being a good dad to Dannielynn through this difficult time, between Anna Nicole Smith no longer being here & her half-brother also not being here is difficult, but from the pictures we've seen, they seem to be coping really well.

9:34, my niece had this condition as well, and she too had the surgery when she was 2. Maybe your daughter has specifics that are preventing doctors from operating before she turns 4. At any rate, its nice to see that Daniellyn isn't in the camera 24/7.
