The whole thing makes absolutly no sense. The grandma has no rights, whatsoever. Larry is the parent, that means under any law that he gets 100% full custody and guardianship. And Larry has been nice enough to say he would allow the estranged and much hated grandma aka Virgie to be a part of his daughters life. But she doesn't want that she wants custody. Which is absurd, for that matter then bring in Larrys parents in also, they can fight for custody of Dannilynn. Bring everyone to fight over custody.
That woman is nuts, and the bahamas are insane to even allow her in the courtroom, that is larrys child, he is the parent, end of story.

i knew it! i'm glad larry is the father he is the only one who gave a rat's a$$ about the baby anyways. and yes, there is something very strange about these deaths and howard stern being so quiet, i'm not saying he did it, but he knows more than he is letting on. It's not like everyone didn't know that larry was the dad dannielynn looks just like him. so why are all of you acting so shocked? don't diss larry! u don't know him and get over it IT' HIS KID!, and there's nothing u can do and it's none of your business!

keep Anna's mom away from that baby - she wasn't a success in raising Anna, allowing her to wed at 16 and never showing up nor interest unless there is money. She is worse than Howard ever could have been

Oh my God people, get a grip. Anna Nicole was with Howard, not Larry, and wanted him to raise her child. They were more or less a FAMILY. Larry Birkhead is an OUTSIDER, a virtual STRANGER, even though he is biologically the father of the child. Anna did not want Larry to be part of the situation and those wishes have got to be acknowledged and respected. I think this sums of the real gist of this situation and that the sudden announcement that Larry is the dad is really neither here nor there.

and you cannot make assumptions that howard k. stern was involved in daniel's death. as if you were there or know any more than anyone else does.

all i am saying is that i feel sorry for howard. and that i THINK, as in it's my opinion, that larry's intentions are jaded by the hope for financial gain.

furthemore, perhaps anna put howard on the birth certificate because SHE felt he would have dannielynn's best interest at heart, regardless of whether or not larry was the biological father. but then again, she was drugged up most of the time, so while you are telling ME not to make assumptions, you can give yourself the same advice, because the truth is, none of us have a clue what the real story is, even with such accurate and ethical journalism that is demonstrated by Us Weekly Magazine...

to Erika well he wouldn't be there because she was with howard and they probably didn't want him there. you cannot make asumptions on why he wasn't there for the pregnancy. obviously she is seeing someone and I doubt the daddy will see their ex in a hospital while they are dating someone ele. I think it's saftey issues considering she died and daniel died sucpiously. i still believe howard was involved with daniel's death

Ummm, Larry shops for toys and baby stuff - and now he is a great father. Why? Because he can shop? A lot more to raising a child then buying furniture and fighting to be the name on her inheritance. No one knows this man, no one knows whether the child's life will be better or worse. ONLY time will tell, then it will be too late. Comments here are reminding me of the ones written about Kevin, who finally watched his kids and was hailed a hero. Agh, the minds of some on here are sooooo scary!

Jeez..you would have thought this guy had just cured cancer or...i don't know...actually DID something besides have sex with a woman who was on drugs most of her waking life.
