The Dark Knight was an excellent movie. The joker played his part very well. It is such a tragedy that he's not here to hear the praises of his performance. I will recommend this movie to anyone. I have seen this movie twice.

It exceeded expectations... however it's success should be partially attributed to Heath's death. It's so eerie but it was done so well. I'll be seeing it again soon.

I'm not at all surprised that "The Dark Knight" did as well as it did in its opening weekend at the box office. The movie has gotten some really good reviews from critics everywhere, plus a certain Midwestern city for which I've lived my life played quite the stand-in for Gotham City. Although we know that Gotham City is a nickname for New York, both "The Dark Knight" & the 2005 movie "Batman Begins" were actually filmed in Chicago, where I have lived my whole life. Many places in Chicago's Financial District and downtown were easily recognized when I saw "Batman Begins" in the cineplex. I think I read something today that "The Dark Knight" added some 4,500 local jobs during the film's production. It's probably sold out for the immediate future, but I can't wait for the DVD to come out around Christmastime...

Heath Ledger playes the part very well. It's going to be hard trying to replace him on the next batman movie. I dont think anyone can play the part as well as he did.

The Dark Knight was a great movie. Heath Ledger and Christian Bale did a great job portraying The Joker and Batman. RIP Heath Ledger.

I think it's a sad that the directors/advertising department used ONLY posters & trailers depicting Heath Ledger image prior to the movie opening is disgraceful. It seems to me that they used his demise as a way to drum up more interest in the Batman movie and therefore making it a box office winner....that's shamefull.

Heath Ledger was an amazing actor (I have been a fan of his work for years) but to profit from his sudden untimely tragic death & to draw in the public based on the fact that he is no longer alive makes me sick to my stomach.

Haven't seen it yet, don't plan to - at least not in the theater. Based on the comments here, the audience isn't really my cup of tea anyway. It is clear that the audience is young, they can't spell, have horrible grammar and are talking about the rest of the people in the theater making comments throughout the movie. People who yak through movies are so annoying!

Is it really any surprise, given current ticket prices, that this move made a ton of money? The real test is whether it sold the most tickets ever, not necessariy how much made it made since it costs an arm and a leg to go to the movies these days.

This movie was awesome - i have been waiting forever for it to come out - saw it in IMAX and then went to see it again later that day -- I'll probably go at least one more time in theatres....

This is a movie that actually lived up to its hype in my opinion and ledger was AMAZING as the joker. ppl say he's getting more credit bc he died - i completely disagree - selfishly i'm really disappointed that we won't be able to see him play that role again - he took character acting farther than johnny depp in pirates and played a role better than jack nicholson - - he truly had more talent than we were able to see...and i wasn't even a fan of his before this movie.

I am saddened that this movie could not have been shown before the actor died. I would have loved for The Dark Knight to have been shown when Heath was still alive. i would have loved to see his response to how much money it earned. I makes me wonder who gets the money Heath earned for the movie? I still think Mary Kate should be questioned inn his death she seems to weird about the whole thing and I would not be shocked if she had given him the sleeping pills herself. I am sorry Heath you can't see what a huge success your movie is. :( I hope you know you are loved and your daughter is beautiful, you watch over her up there and protect her. She will remember you as a great dad!

Dark Knight was an amazing movie. I would recommend it to anyone. It was action packed, Heath Ledger was mesmerizing as the Joker, it had a great story line and to keep it short and sweet, it was one of the best movies I have ever seen. It is truly truly sad that Heath Ledger is no longer with us and that he will not be able to reprise the role of the Joker. NO ONE will be able to play the Joker the way he did. RIP Heath.

Great movie - not sure if my theater was the only one, but the guys in the theater were totally hating on Maggie. Apparently, they don't think she's that hot and some even laughed at her during a kissing scene. Harsh.

I have been waiting for this movie since the first teaser and i couldn't wait soo much that i decided to watch the 4 AM show on Friday and to my expectation it was the best movie i have ever seen 4 in the morning wanting to sleep but still wanting to watch this movie!
