David Cook is a rare talent and no doubt has an amazing career ahead of him. His version of Billy Jean had me in awe. This young man gets my attention with all of his songs.
Unfortunatley once in the media your personal life gets attention. This young man has a rare talent and he loves his brother as one can see. This is tearing him up. We should be praying for his brother and rejoicing in Davids talent to bring joy through his music and amazing vocals.
Go David------------- I hope you have already had more than one amazing offer on a record deal that you cannot let go. This talent should be recognised--his voice is unique and he gets me every time I hear him. Leave his personal life out of his goal to win idol and become a professional artist signed up for a record deal. His dream remember--he has been singing since 2 years of age. Pray for his brothers health and recovery also Davids dream as we all also wish. I look forward to seeing your music in the stores and your name out there for concerts in your future and health and recovery to your brother David.
God Bless him , his brother and all his family.---

David Cook couldn't compose himself as he performed "Always Be My Baby" in front of his ailing brother, Adam, on Tuesday's American Idol.
David, 25, had tears in his eyes as he sang the Mariah Carey tune as Adam, 36 — who is battling brain cancer — watched on.
As soon as David started singing, Adam — his IV still hanging from his sleeve — broke out "in a big grin and didn't stop smiling for a while," an on-looker tells Usmagazine.com.
Despite his frail appearance, Adam (who was seated next to Teri Hatcher) stood up and clapped.
Cowell praised David's performance.
“You have tears,” host Ryan Seacrest told David.
“Yeah,” mustered David, who was recently hospitalized for high blood pressure and heart palpitations.
During the break, David ran into the audience and rubbed his brother's back. Judges Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul then hugged David.
"It was an intense moment," an on-looker tells Us. "Everyone seemed a little overwhelmed."

I do not understand and cannot stand how some people can claim they know why someone else cries. Are you him? What makes you think you know what is going on in another person's head? You can guess but that is all you can do. So stop claiming you know, or better yet, stop thinking you know.
Ever see the orange bracelet that David Cook Wears. Pretty cool story behind it. YouTube Search: "David Cook and the Orange Bracelet for Lindsey Rose". This guy is a class act.
David was in the audience when they pre-seated Adam his brother and his wife. Terry Hatcher came over with her daughter and sat next to them. Terry's Daughter is a DC fan, and Adam's wife is a big Desperate Housewives fan. David had the best performance of his life, a standing ovation from the judges, and his brother with cancer is there to see it, sitting next to Terry Hatcher. David Cook was singing in clubs six months ago. This has to be pretty overwhelming - You wonder why he got misty?
As far as the stealing arrangements comment, these guys have 48 hours to choose a song, select an arrangement, and learn it before rehearsals start - Then do a longer arrangement for iTunes. Little Sparrow and Always Be My Baby were both his original arrangements. He's a lot more talented than the "cartoon soundtrack" boy (DA). So give the guy a break.
Michael Johns was cut because he never figured out who he was, or at least never let us in on it. Too many people thought he only could do queen songs or 70's music like Bo Bice. He certainly had the best voice and range.
Jason and Brooke were born 40 years too late, when the folk era peaked. Carol King music (60's folk) doesn't sell anymore, so Brooke's future is limited to a niche audience.
Carly has an incredible radio voice, but she's scary to watch. If you turn the volume off you'd think she was yelling at you. She's never in the bottom 3 when she wears long sleeves.
MJ, Brook, Archie, & Kristy all had record contracts but were dropped because of lack of sales. DC made two albums, both without a major label and all original music. Search "David Cook Axium" on YouTube.
I see Davids performance a couple of ways. I think he is great, and have liked him all season. I just recently learned of Davids brothers illness. And to be honest, even though this song is about guy/girl feelings, look at some of the lines in it. "You'll always be a part of me", "You will linger on". Come on people, don't you think that maybe he broke down because his brother is sick, and maybe in a way he was singing this song to him! I do not think he is out for sympothy votes at all. I think he is totally origanal, and one of the best that has been on the show. He shows a lot of potential. Rememeber, when every Idol wins, you never know what they will do with there careers, some of the best contestants have not won! I give him credit for going out there every week and doing as well as he is, and dealing with these personal issues at the same time!
David Cook is the best singer and performer to come out in the last 20 years. It just so happens his brother is sick and he loves him. The media is capitalizing on that NOT him. He made it to idol and to the top 10 before anyone knew. If he leaves next week he will have an amazing career anyways. Everytime he sings I get goosebumps. That doesn't happen to me ever. GO DAVID!
Why talk down on David's sick brother? Why bring David's brother into this? So David had a heartfelt moment on stage. He loves his brother. If anyone has ever been through what David is going through with a family member being sick, than you would know that feeling. I KNOW what it feels like, and it's heartbreaking. David loves what he does, and I don't think his brother wants him to give up on that, but David ISN'T being selfish. He's stated he's doing this for his brother too. He wants to do proud in his brothers eyes. They have immense love for one another.
Yeah, David went on AI to get sympathy votes. Yes, that's his ploy! That's how he's going to win Idol! Shut up. He gets votes because he's just that good. Yeah, you heard it, JUST THAT GOOD. Hate on David Cook all you want, but he's FANTASTIC. He KNOWS what this competition is all about. He brings it every week, and when he gets luke warm responses, he brings it the next week. In this competition, he's gotten what? 2 luke warm responses on his performances? All the others haven't gotten that. Sorry, but David A. may have a good voice, but he's too predictable and has no originality at all. He can sing a ballad, but that's it. Jason is great, but I don't think he has enough to win. The girls all stink, yes, even Carly.
He is so excellent. He has a great performance in that show. But I dont think he is the best. It's also told he is found at the wealthyy men and cele/brity site "million airecupid" c o m. He is looking for some fun or just wants to communicate with other celebs?
David's performace was awesome! Rock on, David!
3:16 i mean really now if you were on a road trip and decided to peruse through the stations do you swear on your mother's life that you would even remotely recognize his voice? he came out this week that he's a poser and relied on some wack back up plan to make america love him....it's not the end of the world.
1:39 hardcore is one word. heartfelt moments are subjective...hence the entire philosophy behind voting. "heartfelt" moments are actually what true artists have absolutely no need for. people are bickering about this because david lost a huge fan base by creating a heartfelt...aka 'fan'tastic moment. basically cook needs to sing about his brother rather than tell about it. when fantasia won american idol she tore the house down because she was so pissed off about being an illiterate impoverished black single mom that she didn't give a flying f about heartfelt moments or the audience which is why she won. duh.......
Bull... about David C going for a sympathy vote ......... he's brilliant and deserves to win this year's Idol !!!
I have to disagree, Carrie was not the best, she is a talented singer, but she was not the best, neither was Bo Bice for that matter, I personally think Chris Daugherty was the BEST and still is a great performer.
Very sweet. We have very few hard core selfish people in the world, and an abundant amount of love. Too bad the jerks get the attention. Appriciate a heartfelt moment already!
1:00....damn you got sucked in hardcore. let us not forget that this is about music. most people don't know that fantasia was completely illiterate and had to work overtime to win american idol. like a sick artist that only new music she didn't vocalize this handicap. it's really about how well you perform. to bring anything else but this ends up sounding desperate. hence the argument. it's not that people aren't saddened by his brother's ailment...it's just that it's irrelevant.
Man, tough crowd today. I don't think in any way, shape, or form that David C. was going for a sympathy vote. He went out there and rocked it last night like he always does. The judges said really awesome things to him and he got a bit choked up, shows he's a human being who is not afraid to be himself if you ask me. Also, to the person who said he should quit the show because his brother is ill, obviously you have never dealt with an illness of this nature. Quitting something that you love because someone you are close to is ill isn't going to change the outcome of that person's life. And, they will be the first one to tell you to follow your dreams and not put your life on hold for them. Life is for the living, go out and live it! Doing so doesn't mean that you don't love your brother, sister, mother, etc. any less, and the person dealing with the terminal illness knows and understands that. Make no mistake, these brothers have discussed the path that David is on, and there is mutual respect and support for what each is going through at this stage of their lives.
To 11:42 - WHO CARES IF HE's AGNOSTIC?????? Does that mean he can't or sing, or shouldn't be allowed to? Why does it have to be about religion, race, sexual orientation or otherwise? The problem with this world is that people get hung up on stuff that has nothing to do with them. Other people's personal choices do not affect your life at all, so live and let live for goodness sake.
Geez Sue, are you serious? Did you forget Carrie Underwood and Chris Daughtery? This guy is not even close to being the best especially when being compared to these past idols. And sorry even compared to a couple of the singers this season, he is far from being the best.
11:26 Thank you, I agree!
I thought his performance was absolutely amazing! It was so unique and different. I don't understand how people keep saying all he wants is sympathy votes. It is not about sympathy, it is about talent which David Cook has. That performance to me, shows that he should win this whole thing.
I didn't think he was good at all. I was surprised by the judge's comments. I also saw on his myspace that he is an agnostic. I just don't get what people see in him.
Sue~the best the show has ever had? LMAO!
Kelly, Carrie, Chris and Clay are the best the show has had and have proven it. David has some big shoes to fill to say that about him.
Carrie is the best the show has ever seen at this point.
I LOVE DAVID COOK! He is by far the best this show has ever had and I love that he takes risk. Great job David and I look forward to more performances!!!
i am not sure when idol turned into a freakshow but knockie knock michael johns is a thirty year old karaoke singer. snap the f out of it.
I hope Kristy goes tonight. I can't stand her.
Michael Jonns needs to come back, they should have taken Kristy off and kept him, he has real talent.
i never saw his brother..... he was the best singer next to miceal johns,,,, if david cook goes what is with america, they see talent when they see it?
I think he did great, not only did he sing it well...But he always comes up with very amazing original arrangements...I don't think he was looking for sympathy votes at all, if that were the case he would have made a bigger deal out of his brother being there, and he didn't. I think he is great and no matter if he wins or not he will make it big in the music industry!!!

ok... I don't think he's overrated at all. The show is about singing other people's songs... therefore he's going to do that. The judges tell them to make them unique to their own voices and that's exactly what he's doing. He is making each of those songs his own. Don't get me wrong, Jason is my favorite, but he's doing the same thing. Taking other people's songs and transforming them into beautiful melodies. I adore him.
This guy is completely overrated. He keeps using other people's versions of songs and is being called original? Something about the guy is totally creepy. I like the other David and Jason.
9:37: I think it was both actually. He did a really great job on the song and I am sure seeing his brother there just made the amazing feed back especially from Simon that much better. Because he didn't seem the least bit choked up till AFTER Simon said what he said. I think the whole thing was just overwhelming I was wondering if his blood pressure was going to go up again. It had to be one rollercoaster night. To know u are doing great and your future looks so bright BUT that your older brother is dying. Sad the way that works sometimes!
