Days Before Divorce, Sean Penn Had Christmas Date With “Young, Attractive” Mystery Brunette

Four days before she filed divorce papers in Marin County, California, on December 21, he was spotted dining on Christmas with a “very young, very attractive” brunette at San Francisco’s Café de la Presse restaurant. “He seemed nervous and on edge,” fellow diner Rob Seide told Usmagazine.com of the actor. “He didn’t seem very happy.” Penn originally filed divorce papers in Marin County December 7, his attorney Mindy Ross told Us, but the petition was dismissed December 18. On December 21, Robin Wright Penn, 41, filed her own request for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. Penn's divorce papers listed November 30 as the date of their separation; she listed the split date as December 1. I have always loved Sean Penn the great, great actor...and young Cagney type. However, even I would have trouble being married to such an intensely creative being that he is for his work and his many causes. I am old fashioned in that I believe the family comes first. Silly me, huh?

Jai, With all due respect, that's BS! One amoral HOUNDDOG can end a marriage. It does NOT have to be the fault of BOTH! I've gone thru it myself. Was a good, faithful wife (who had PLENTY of other offers, which I turned down, because I believed that one should be FAITHFUL in a marriage, silly me!) and mother. But he hit a "midlife" crisis, and took up with a barmaid! He regrets it now, but TOO LATE!! So, you see ONE person CAN tank a marriage. Unless YOU personally have been thru a divorce (and I suspect you haven't), or been married to a man who can't keep it in his pants, please don't preach about things you know nothing about!

At the point that the marriage stopped working [for one, the other, or both], they each had a part in how and why it had to end. Does one spouse cheating and the other one not constitute a legitimate "difference"? Did the marriage stop working because it is impossible to maintain a relationship with a cheater over the long-term? Is the non-cheating spouse's actions to end the marriage equal to the cheater's?

Divorce especialy when kids are involved is always sad but Sean Penn is the most egotistical and angry man I have ever laid eyes on. NO I have never met him personally but these qualities are proven time and time again in his actions and words. I have no idea exactly why the marriage failed but I wish nothing but happiness for Robin and this is the 1st step towards it... if he demeanor and attitude in public is to be believed.
