If Jack or Sailor ever read this: You are the only people in the world who really know what kind of parents you have. Trust what you feel and know in your hearts, and disregard what strangers think! If any of the children’s friends read this: Try to imagine that all this happened to you! Be supportive and not cruel!

To everyone who publishes their opinion on this matter: What did any of these people do to you? Were you present during the marriage, negotiations or even the trial? Do you have any idea of what the pressure of being a public figure going through a private crisis is like? Some have mentioned that these children or at least kids associated with them will read about all this, including comments posted on the internet. Do any of you think that speaking ill of their parents using such strong words is helping? How do you think a child would feel reading that a stranger thought daddy should have gone ahead and killed himself because he cheated on mommy? Or what do you think the child will think when people state that one or both of the so loved parents should not get custody?

How would any of you come out of it if every detail of your life was on trial? What the media has reported from this trial does not equal child abuse on the part of any of the parents, even though some of what has been described never should have happened. I wish that none of the unfavourable details were made public, but that would have happened in this case one way or another. Not closing the court-room may have saved the family tons of speculations and false rumours, which might have been even harder on them. And what is the basis for people to suggest that the court appointed psychiatrist was paid off? If everybody really wishes these children well, please watch your words! It is not necessary to speak ill of Peter to support Christie and the other way around! In this family everybody needs help and healing, and what good person would want to add to their struggles?

Christie is the one who fought to put everything in the open. Her husband was wrong, but Christie is making this harder for her kids--and they should be her first priority. Both parents are setting a horrible example for their kids. Peter for cheating, and now Christie for showing her kids about revenge and public humiliation. Shame on both of them, they both made this hard on the family.

He should have worked a little harder on the custody and visitation and then maybe this wouldn't have had to go to trial. I understand his want to be able to father his children, but wouldn't you be concerned about what type of father he is if he is surfing porn sites enough to cost $3000 a month and pursuing and paying for sex with an 18 year old, while married to the childrens mother. Seriously, I think his parental skills should come into question with this type of perverted behavior. And it is my understanding that in NY, trials are public. Until you have been through a situation like this, it is hard to cast judgement but I can tell you I would be worried for my children and seriously question their fathers judgement and ability to safely parent my kids.
