Around the release of AMH Esquire did a piece on AJ that featured extensive information about The Maddox Jolie-Pitt Millenium Project with no comments from AJ about the amount she spends on it or estimates from the staff either. It does state that as many as 72 staff draw their paychecks from "Angelina and Brad." Finally, the UNHCR announced she gave $50,000 to the Chad emergency fund after she made a UNHCR sponsored visit there. So I don't see Angelina announcing any amounts other than that and the elephants -- and she didn't mention how much they cost.

Angelina rarely needs defending in my book because she hasn't done anything wrong. She is that truly good person -- good to the bone -- that when she does strange stuff it is almost always from that very, very good place she inhabits. That type of person is very threatening to a lot of people. I respond to posters I think distort the facts about Angelina, that's all.

If Angelina completely shut down any information about her charitable or humanitarian work (she would have to leave the UNHCR to do so and shut down the Maddox Chivan Children's Center, Maddox Jolie-Pitt Millenium Project, three schools that I know of, a major foundation working on the Pineridge Reservation of the Lakota and a conservation project in Namibia -- but you know those animals and kids can fend for themselves -- and probably several others) her detractors would say "See, we told you -- she was only doing it for the attention." But I guess you are saying it would be "truer" to you if she did that. I can't imagine that the recipients of her efforts would agree. How many children can go to school every day only because Angelina Jolie lives -- and works?

BTW: I guess it is OK -- Oprah being public -- right? Have you ever heard it said about anyone other than Angelina that she should be more private about her charitable projects? Why is that do you suppose? There is really no way she would satisfy you. Angelina knows this -- it is the same reason she never defends herself or counters what despicable people like Seacrest and Trump say about her. AJ knows she is being used. She knows she can't move that ball. As she says "I'll always be the evil queen to Hollywood."

The diffrent with angie is every thing about her past is an open book.
Jennifer aniston, Tom Cruise, Opera, Ben Aflack , shyrol stone etc.. never have a good realtionship with one their parents .We don't hear any of these stars blamed or bashed about it.
Like for example we heard JA with Brad mom story than JA with her own mother or father , since she doesn't get along with any of her parents more with her mom , nobody try to assume it is because of that she become this vicitim lover woman and painfuly insecure.
...Angie has friends all over the world. It is not her thing to have 50 people just to occopy her time. Just to meet up and talk about gossip. Especially right now when she has her job, her humanitrail work, brad the kids etc all need her time.

I seriously disagree about the compassion thing. I don't think it's something that can be "learned," any more than love can.

It comes from GOOD PARENTS. Obviously, there was something seriously lacking in Angelina Jolie's upbringing: She used to kill her pets and laugh about it.

It's sad that at almost 26 years old she "woke up" to human suffering. She was either totally spoiled or totally narcissistic or both.

The rest of us FEEL FOR OTHER PEOPLE, because our parents, with their love and affection, give us that gift.

She must have been one hollow and cold person - maybe even mean-spirited and vicious - before. It looks like she swung to the opposite extreme.

Yes, she does have compassion for people suffering from war and famine in faraway countries, but how much feeling can she fake for real people in personal interactions or intimate relationships?

She doesn't appear to have any friends, and doesn't appear particularly caring about whom she hurts in her rise to the top.

I think it's personal relationships that count the most.
