CAREFUL! That's what I'd be in judging him. The majority of us have had money problems and with gas over $4 a gallon and headed up, many more of us will. It doesn't matter how rich you are, when you can't pay your mortgage, it's a sad day. I hope they do OK.

I don't feel sorry for him one bit. He's the one that got himself into this financial crisis. I saw him and his wife on Larry King Live, and I was absolutely digusted over the fact that his wife was wearing these diamond necklaces, rings, earrings, and bracelets. How about forking over those diamonds and getting some money for them? Ed also said that other celebs were helping him out by giving him money. How can I feel sorry for a person that absolutely threw all his money away, probably on worthless cr@p, and now it's coming back and biting him in the @$$? There are so many people in his shoes right now, and they aren't getting handouts from celebrities. There has to be a crackdown on people like Ed McMahon that abuse credit cards. He has taken total advantage of these companies, how can he not know what he's doing when he's charging $750,000 and $180,000? That is absolutely absurb. How about someone like Ed McMahon not think he's an actual celeb? How about living like a normal human being and living decently? Why does someone like him need the fancy house, fancy food, fancy cars, and fancy this and that? You always have to look in the future with these things. Live in a normal home. Drive the normal cars. Eat out occasionally, but not at the fancy snobby restaurants. How about not being greedy and acting like you're some high roller when you're NOT. His wife needs a job as well! She needs to get up off her broke @$$ and help. I'm don't think Ed put himself in that financial burden all by himself, she had to of contributed. People need to stop trying to keep up with the Jones' and worry about their dayum selves for a change!

The mortgage meltdown in this country has proven that not even famous people such as Ed McMahon are immune from possibly losing the most important purchase in life, the all-American home. With Ed getting older and not getting as much work as he used to, he needs to make necessary cutbacks in order to make ends meet. That means cutting back on unnecessary expenses, cutting back on credit cards, paying exclusively with cash, and work within a budget. Even at his age, I think he can do it, and a financial planner can show Ed & his wife how to pull it off...

I am sorry but this is CLEARLY his younger wife's doing. Old men don't spend money like that.. they purchase a nice home, a few decent properties, a main vehicle and perhaps a few luxury cars, a driver, and their other expenses are pretty consistent. They usually invest. As old as McMahon is.. I am sorry but he just wasn't the one spending that kind of cash. It was his WIFE! And this is not like Ed McMahon is one of those young rich guys that just spends and spends. He's been rich a long time..and his money was just fine! She spent that money like it was water because she just assumed that it was always going to be coming in. She didn't count on this set back. And it's so sad how this man worked his whole life to see it go down the tubes like this... very sad. I think Pam needs to simply get a job that earns money. It's rough situation and I just pray they can get out of it and learn from their mistakes. And Ed needs to put a serious CAP on his wife's monthly spending. A SERIOUS CAP!

Living above your means only hurts you in the end and makes you look like a fool. All because you have to have what the neighbors have. Stupidity.

It's hard for me to feel sorry for this man. He has made millions over the years, doing really nothing.
