Those poor little girls. Its not worse enough that they lose their dog, but now they have to see the dog on TV being used for publicity?

Geez, Mutts and Moms. They can't have the dogs best interests at heart. By taking that dog away, one less dog was adopted.

I hope at the very least, the little girls heard about the dog being on tv from their mother and not from randomly flipping the channels.

Thedognextdoor.com's solution is to allow the adopting parent to find a new home AFTER CONTACTING US ABOUT IT - it helps us if they have someone in mind -- I have the new home submit a written application and do a home visit and I do NOT, without an extremely good reason, deny the readoption.

I don't think this was a breach of contract matter. I think it was the kids. Many rescues do not adopt to homes with small kids (or to the elderly). I don't have those overcautious policies with so many hundreds of thousands of shelter dogs dying every year. Instead, I follow-up for life on my adoptees. I offer help with training and temporary care for the pet if someone is hospitalized. I CONTRACTUALLY agree to try and help my adopters in a financial emergency. I work WITH adopters, to help them keep their dogs - that allows me to save and rehome one more. I am a tiny rescue doing this off my salary AND I am currently unemployed. Large or small, I would NOT change that philosphy. You cannot have policies that defeat the purpose of your cause.

Someone once said there is no such thing as "bad" publicity. And here is the proof. Iggy is a star. THE SHELTER DOGS WIN. If this was not PLANNED it should have been. I wish Ellen had done this to one of my dogs. I'd love for thedognextdoor.com to be plastered all over the news. I'd love to have donations rolling in the door and my groups' name on ET for 8 weeks running. This is marketing genius!! Hey Ellen, want a Husky mix?? 2 years old and she ONLY LIKES WOMEN. Lily hates men and other dogs, loves women and cats, cheated death in a high kill Georgia gassing shelter. Heartworm negative, fully vetted and microchipped. Have your people call thedognextdoor.com to arrange the adoption. Next week give her to an all male orphanage and I'll deny the readoption - Lily can make Letterman by Christmas. Maybe she will bite him and Lily can be on ET for 16 weeks.

HEY....one more thing that just came to me.

IF the adoption agency would not reveal the family in which Iggy was now placed....how did MARY HART and ET gets their hands on this pooch and that info.

I guess like with medical issues and HIPA laws....when you are Mary Hart and Entertainment Tonight.....and that info is all supposed to be confidential....

MONEY TALKS....and poor Iggy is used and this poor family that lost IGGY once again have to endure pain of having to see what was once their dog.

I hope someday your own children are never hurt in the way that you all at Entertainment Tonight have hurt those two little girls. Oh I forgot...it's SWEEPS TIME !!!

PS Mutts and Moms did a homecheck/interview with Marina and her family. They decided this new home WAS NOT SUFFICIENT OR SUITABLE for Iggy. Now how is that not in the dog's best interest? Rescue dogs have been through enough. They deserve the best and safest homes for the rest of their lives.

And to those of you saying "it's just a dog", I pity you. You don't deserve the unconditional love and companionship that dogs and other pets give us.

It's almost like a final blow to Ellen's situation, flaunting the poor dog on TV like "neener neener, we took him"...it's a sad and pathetic backslap kind of game, Mutts N Moms obviously have some growing up to do. Granted, Ellen broke the rules but instead of viciously confiscating the animal, I think a sit down with all parties involved and deciding what's best for the animal would have behooved everyone, if Mutts was really so concerned about the dog's well-being that is...

Well, I heard that Iggy met his wife on millionmatch.... Just kidding. Sorry.

I heard Iggy is the new dish at the Thai restaurant close to Ellen's house.

Ellen screwed up. 
She did everything she could to correct it. She found herself unable to care for the dog, so she found somebody who was. She made a public apology.

Marina screwed up. 
We haven't heard from her.
Ellen made a mistake out of love for a little puppy, hurt nobody and made two children and a puppy happy.

Marina made a mistake and stole a pet from children, slandered a great philanthropist, and left a steaming pile all over the reputation of dedicated animal rescuers everywhere.
