Elton to Imus: "Step Down!"

 Kevin Winter/Getty Images Add Sir Elton John to the growing list of people who aren't fans of Don Imus. John spoke out about the embattled radio host at Wednesday night's Billie Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. John, 60, who performed at the event, dedicated the song "Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word" to the players of the Rutgers University women's basketball team. On Wednesday, Imus was fired by MSNBC, which simulcasts his radio show, for his racially charged remarks. (CBS Radio, which syndicates the program, so far has kept him on the payroll.) John told the crowd from the stage, "I don't want to open my big mouth because I have a big mouth and it gets me in trouble sometimes, but I dedicate this next song to the Rutgers University players." When he finished singing the crowd jumped to their feet and gave Elton a standing ovation. John then told the crowd, "I think he [Imus] should step down immediately." The Billie's, named after tennis great Billie Jean King and hosted by the Women's Sports Foundation, recognize media excellence in women's sports and physical activity. Judging by Imus' recent remarks, we assume the 59-year-old loud mouth isn't a member. Click here and tell us if you think Imus deserved to be fired. Are we honestly supposed to care what Elton John thinks of this? He couldn't be any farther removed from the sports world if he tried. I think it's so funny. Elton is such an idiot. I'm so sick of political correctness. We should be able to say whatever we want. Go ahead and disagree but I think it's sad that a radio personality is getting fired basically for doing his job. Radio hosts talk for a living. They have opinions. Whatever. He should not be getting fired for this. Especially if that was his only comment. People make racist remarks all the time and 90% of those people don't really mean it and most people know that. People are so quick to get offended by everything. If we followed every rule and bit our tongue all the time, this country would bore the snot out of me.

Elton, your "bleep hag" Liz Hurley is calling. Please go back to England and help her fight Indian jail time and stay out of the Imus ridiculousness. I guess since you're gay, that makes you a "protected class" as well.... Note to Bush - can we make the "immigration wall" for the UK instead of Mexico? At least Mexicans that come over here don't speak English and we can't understand when they're saying things that aren't their business.

I heard that Rocket Man was actually about a large black man penetrating Elton's bung hole. I to think it was weird that when I would listen to it as a boy I would sit on a soda bottle and play with my self...I could feel the bottle sliding deeper into me, as I mumbled "rocket man" with my pants around my ankles. With that, I think Imus should be fired by Sony too. I don't think it's right for them to capitalize on him being racist.
