3-Year-Old Girl Shows Off Vast Knowledge of Periodic Table, Rattles Off Elemental Facts on The Ellen DeGeneres Show

The Ellen DeGeneres Show

Our minds are blown. Brielle — a 3-year-old girl from Salinas, Calif. — stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday, Nov. 23, and showed off her vast knowledge of the periodic table.

“Our next guest can recite the entire periodic table,” the comedian told the audience. “So either she’s really smart or just a complete showoff.”

DeGeneres asks the little genius when she started learning the periodic table, to which she replies, “3-years-old!”

In addition to knowing all the elements, Brielle can also explain their characteristics, which she did as DeGeneres held up cards indicating various symbols. The little girl even corrects DeGeneres’ pronunciation of strontium.

Brielle’s mother revealed that she purchased flashcards for her daughter back in April — meaning that it only took six months for the little girl to learn it.

When the Finding Dory actress asked if Brielle can read too, she replies, “No, not yet, but I’m sounding out words.”

Our favorite part of the clip? When the talk show host asks the little girl how she can remember everything.

“My little brain just remembers,” she answers.
