Aaron Paul Channels Breaking Bad Character in Surprise SNL Appearance: Video
He's on Saturday Night Live, bitch! Aaron Paul made a surprise appearance on SNL alongside host Tina Fey for its Season 39 premiere! During a cold opener, the Breaking Bad star popped up to channel his Jesse Pinkman character alongside Jay Pharaoh's Barack Obama.
"I had this friend and he got sick. Like, cancer cancer sick. But because there wasn’t Obamcare, he couldn’t afford treatments. So he was like, backed into a corner, the 34-year-old actor said during the skit.
He added, "So, he did what any of us would have done. He started cooking meth. And soon it wasn't just meth. It was murder. And not regular murder. Like—he blew half a guy’s face off." Breaking Bad's anti-hero Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a mild-mannered high school chemistry teacher and family man, starts manufacturing meth with burnout Pinkman -- eventually becoming an immoral meth overload throughout the groundbreaking show.
Paul got a huge round of applause for his appearance, and was also spotted during Weekend Edition and in a pre-taped SNL commercial about using -- meth! The actor was excited to be invited onto the NBC series, and later shared a photo of musical guest, Arcade Fire, performing. "Arcade fire and SNL!!! I love you so much!!! Thanks for having me," he wrote.
