The search for Angus T. Jones' replacement on CBS' Two and a Half Men is likely over. Amber Tamblyn has been cast as Jenny Harper, the illegitimate lesbian daughter of the late Charlie Harper (formerly played by Charlie Sheen) on the half-hour sitcom. The actress will recur in at least five episodes during Season 11, with an option to become a series regular.

As Us Weekly previously reported, Tamblyn's character will show up at the home of Walden Schmidt (Ashton Kutcher) and Alan Harper (Jon Cryer) looking for her dad. If the 30-year-old is a hit with viewers, the plan is to have her move in with the duo, filling the void left by Jake Harper (Jones).

(Jones, 19, is reportedly planning to attend college this fall; he's also expressed interest in forging a music career, sources told Us in April.)

Speaking to reporters at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour in July, show creator Chuck Lorre explained why they chose to add a woman to the mix. "I think it would be great to have a voice on the show from a different perspective," he explained. "The show has had enough testosterone to last a lifetime."

"Part of the fun in this has been creating a character that is equal to the task of stepping on the stage with Jon Cryer and Ashton Kutcher. That's a big job," Lorre added. "The idea of the character brings a healthy amount of decadence, which is always fun on Two and a Half Men."

Tamblyn, married to Arrested Development's David Cross, is perhaps best-known for her starring roles in CBS' Joan of Arcadia and FOX's House, M.D., as well as her apperances in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movies.
