Even American Idol alums get stage fright.

Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery, 18, was caught lip-syncing during Macy's 85th Annual Thanksgiving Day parade Thursday. As his song "The Trouble With Girls" played, McCreery stood motionless on the float for several seconds. NBC cut away from a close-up of the singer to give McCreery time to catch up.

McCreery's former competitor, Season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina, also had performance anxiety Thursday. The 17-year-old sang the "Star Spangled Banner" at the Detroit Lions/Green Bay Packers game, which started off on a high note. But when Alaina got to the line, "What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming," she paused for several moments, struggling to remember the lyrics.

"I'm not a robot. I have no excuses. I messed up. You know, what can you do? At least I didn't fall down again," Alaina tweeted after the goof. "Thank you everyone for the kind words. But the truth is I messed up. I'm gonna spend the rest of the day being thankful for all my blessings."
