Amy Poehler Rages Against ‘Star Wars’: ‘I’m Tired of Pretending’ to Care!

Amy Poehler would like The Force to go back to sleep. Millions of people are lining up around the globe to see the just-released Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but Poehler won’t be among them.

Appearing with BFF Tina Fey and their Sisters costars on Late Night With Seth Meyers on Thursday, December 17, the Parks and Recreation alum finally revealed her true feelings about the pop culture phenomenon.

Sisters is going up against the blockbuster at the box office this weekend, so Meyers asked the cast to make a case for why moviegoers should see their comedy over the J.J. Abrams–helmed Episode VII. The catch? They had to do so using Star Wars figurines.

The rest of the group — Fey, Ike Barinholtz, Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch and Paula Pell — was game to play along, but Poehler, 44, just couldn’t get on board. When it was her turn, she held up her Constable Zuvio action figure and let loose.

“OK, I’ve read this guy’s name three times. I don’t remember it. I don’t care. I don’t care about Star Wars!” she fake-raged. “I never f–king did! I’m sorry. I’m tired of pretending. I don’t care about it!”

She went on to joke that Zuvio’s face was covered because he was embarrassed to see the movie. “I don’t know! Who gives a f–k?” she yelled as her costars cracked up around her. “I’m so sick of it!”
