Summer may be long gone, but daytime TV host Anderson Cooper is doing all he can to maintain a sun-kissed glow.
On Tuesday's episode of Cooper's new syndicated series, Anderson, the host, 44, went for his first-ever spray tan — bringing Jersey Shore's Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi along for moral support.
The segment made good on Snooki's July 13 promise via Twitter to take Cooper for his first session, even after he mocked her New York Times bestselling novel, A Shore Thing. "Thanks for reading my NY Times Bestseller Mista Anderstand Cooper. Love to help you get a 2nd book. Let's go tanning and talk about it," she Tweeted.
"Oh my God, you're pale! It's scary," Snooki, 23, bellowed after walking into New York City's Beach Bum Tanning salon to meet Cooper on Tuesday's show.
Cooper may have fretted over having to don a far-from-fashionable hairnet for his tan, but his guidette mentor couldn't have been more impressed with his toned physique.
"I had no idea Mr. 'Anderstand' had muscles," she gushed as Cooper stripped down. "When he took off his shirt, he has this huge, like, peanut muscle. It was cool!"
Later, the duo made plans to hit the salon again together. "It was fun — you'll be my tanning buddy now!" Snooki said.
