Glorious news for Jennifer Aniston: she won't have to avoid ex Brad Pitt — or his lady friend Angelina Jolie — at next Sunday's Golden Globe Awards. Although the acclaimed Inglourious Basterds is a contender at the ceremony, costar Pitt (who was passed over for a supporting actor nod) will not be in attendance — and neither will Jolie.
A source close to Jolie, 34, confirmed the news to UsMagazine.com.
Single girl Aniston, 40, has been confirmed as a presenter at the awards; Inglourious' many nominations led to much speculation about an Aniston-Jolie-Pitt faceoff. (Pitt and Aniston announced their split five years ago in January 2004, divorcing later that year.)
Pitt, 46, and Jolie plus their six kids became temporary — and enthusiastic! — New Yorkers over the holiday season. Jolie was in town to reshoot scenes for her film Salt, and the clan took advantage of the Big Apple despite the frigid temperatures: romantic dinners for the couple, Broadway matinees for some of the kids, a boys night out at Dave and Busters for Pitt, Pax, 7, and Maddox 8, the girls' visit to Jolie's film set and more.
