Anne Hathaway Responds to Catwoman Costume Backlash

Not everyone was impressed with the first promo shot of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises.
"I asked someone to send me a few reactions [to the photo]," she told MTV. "And I happen to know that MTV's reaction was 'meh.'"

(In its original critique, MTV called the image of Hathaway "unflattering" and "underwhelming." In an Us Weekly poll, 52 percent of readers voted Michelle Pfeiffer as the sexiest Catwoman; Halle Berry came in second place with 37 percent of the votes, while Hathaway came in last place with a mere 11 percent.)

Despite first impressions, Hathaway promised there's more to her costume than meets the eye. "What I am happy to say is, if you didn't like the photo, you only see about a 10th of what that suit can do," the 28-year-old said. "And if you did like the photo, you have excellent taste."
The Dark Knight Rises arrives in theaters on July 20, 2012.

angelina would have been a better choice or maybe even zoe from her role as avatar she would be a sexy cat woman. anne does not have the ability or the sex appeal to be cat woman she is the worst ever. She has destroyed this character. halle berry wasn't bad...the movie but halle does have the sex appeal and the body that she worked hard on to have a cat like appeal. the movie sucked but she does have the looks for the part. -smh-

Y'know what? Batman is a f-n COMIC BOOK! It's not literature, it's not great. It's written for kids that pee in the bed. Why are there millions of dollars being invested in a preadolescent's wet dream from 1939? I don't get that. You can put Miss Piggy in as Catwoman and it will be ten times better. Batman meets Casper The Freindly Ghost would be a blockbuster. Remember when they had Batman crossover with Archie in Riverdale? That's about it. AH got a fat check. That's all she wanted. It's why she works in Hollywood. She's not doing Tennessee Williams or Shakespeare. Tight latex on an IMAX screen will leave much Kleenex on the bathroom floor of 15yos the world over. Her job is done.

I agree with Rob...when I heard Heath Ledger (R.I.P.) was going to be the Joker I really didn't think he could pull it off but he was amazing in the role. I'll leave my judgement of Anne til I see her in the movie.
No one can say how AH has done as Catwoman until they see the movie. However, this was ABOUT who looked the best as Catwoman. So she wanted opinions and reactions. NOW she is pissy about it and saying those that liked it have excellent taste. Sounds like sour grapes to me.
how is is possible to say she's the "worst catwoman"? we haven't seen anything else but this picture that is filled with that bike's wheel than anything else. We haven't seen her acting, or the full look. why is everyone in such a hurry to comment?

I think Anne Hathaway is a smart young lady and I believe she'll bring something new to catwoman besides mere sexiness. Leave her alone!
