Asher Monroe is gearing up for the Dec. 22 release of his solo EP, and off the album is his new record featuring Sean Kingston, “F---ed Up” (listen above!), which he’s sharing exclusively with Us Weekly. (Warning: explicit language!)

“It’s got a little bit of a reggae feel to it,” Monroe explains to Us Weekly. “I love reggae music but I’ve never really done a song in the reggae style, so that was really fun.”

“I recorded it over a year ago,” the 26-year-old said. “Sean came in and was super cool and we wrote the song together. He was super fun, he’s got a great personality; he’s very light and he’s got a good energy about him.”

Kingston isn’t the only music powerhouse Monroe has gotten to work with. He’s also worked with Chris Brown this year on their song “Memory.”

Monroe, who got his start on Broadway and segued it into a successful TV and film career with roles on Parenthood and in Fame, is taking a break from acting right now to focus solely on his solo career.“For now I’m enjoying doing 100% music,” Monroe explains.
