Pretty Little Liars may be on winter break, but costars Ashley Benson and Shay Mitchell are using the holiday as an excuse to get together. “Shay came over for a drink,” Benson tells Us Weekly about hosting Thanksgiving in NYC. “It was cool to have her stop by.” Aside from a quick visit from Mitchell, the day was filled with another major moment. “I cooked a turkey for the first time in my life,” says Benson. “I didn’t burn it! It tasted so good.”

Benson, 26, is giving a lot more than a great meal this holiday season. The Anaheim, California, native has partnered with PayPal for Giving Tuesday, a global day of generosity powered by social media, to raise Monday for Wags and Walks. “I’m a huge dog lover,” she explains. “So anything that I can do to find dogs a home, I’ll go above and beyond to do that.”

The actress is enjoying her time off since the PLL series wrap in October, and when the final 10 episodes premiere in April 2017, Benson promises viewers will finally be at ease as the story comes to a close. “I think with everyone’s story lines, the fans are going to be super satisfied with how it ends,” Benson tells Us, noting that her character and Tyler Blackburn’s will figure out their long-winded romance. “I think Hanna and Caleb — regardless of if they’re together or not — their story will always have a happy ending.”

As it turns out, Benson struggles along with fans to keep track of the many relationships, fights, deaths and disappearances that have occurred repeatedly on the show since its 2010 premiere. “I’ve always been like, “‘Let’s just figure out who A is,’” she says of the show’s mysterious villain, joking: “Every time someone’s been like, ‘What’s your show about?’ I’m like, ‘I don’t know, to be honest.’”
