Audrina Patridge has Michael Bolton's back.

The Dancing with the Stars competitor thinks Bolton, 57, deserves an apology from Bruno Tonioli, who scathingly chided the singer's jive number on Monday night's show.

"It definitely was really brutal, and Michael was really bummed out after that. I think he should say something," Patridge, 25, told UsMagazine.com at Thursday's Make Up Forever Boutique Launch at Sephora Soho in NYC. (Tonioli said Bolton's jive was "the worst" in the show's history.)

But, Tonioli has to be a  little mean, the star admitted: "He is a judge, and that's his job to give his opinion and be brutally honest...If he was too nice, it wouldn't be an interesting show."

The show's producers stood behind their sharp-tongued judge. After Bolton's Tuesday's night elimination from the show, he demanded an apology from Tonioli for his withering remarks. In a Wednesday statement, producers said, "We don't feel Bruno should be expected to apologize for doing his job."

How does Patridge (paired with Tony Dovolani) keep her wits about her come show time?

"I get nervous and jittery before going out there with 700-800 people out there watching you. It's nerve-wracking!" she admitted.

"When I am on the dance floor, I just focus on Tony. I'm in this little bubble. That's all I focus on -- otherwise, I will mess up."

Wow...those of you commenting are just as harsh as Bruno. Michael Bolton's dance was not horrible. In fact there were two other contestants who danced worse than him. The only reason they get votes is because one is a reality star and the other has a politician for a mother. Bruno got carried away and it was unnecessary. Kate Gosselin never was spoken to like that or received a "3" and I am sure everyone will agree she WAS HORRIBLE. Also, its one thing to criticize but at least be able to back it up with why you think a certain way. In the arts its called helpful criticism so that the artist can learn from it. How can anyone learn from just blatant rudeness!? Bruno should take a note from Simon Cowell, if you say insult someone you should back it up. Bruno could not do that plain and simple. Pathetic for a "professional" judge.

All Michael Bolton has done is make sure that I never watch him in concert. For crying out loud, he was a rotten dancer and Bruno called a spade a spade. Nobody else on the show needs to comment. How about comment about Jennifer Gray only getting an 8 for her wonderful performance?? I'd rather make a big deal out of that. Grow up Michael...grow up!!

Michael Bolton is acting like a child. He couldn't dance and that is why he was voted off. If the public wanted him to continue (regardless of Bruno's statement) they would have voted to keep him on. It's time Michael put his big boy underwear back on and stop acting like a sniveling boob.
